• Responsible for being first line of contact on shift for all production & packaging operations
• Shopfloor position, managing issues, workload allocation, production plans and progress reports
• Work closely with the production lead to plan for the weeks production plans and map out in advance
• Part of the duty manager on-call weekend rota - covering 1 in 3 Saturdays & Sundays
• Waste management -monitor materials and stock levels, chemical & harmful waste contract supplies

We are working with a market leading manufacturing company based in dunstable who hold a predominate market share within their field. Due to growth they are looking to add to their Maintenance Department.

The main roles and responsibilities will be working predominantley on PPMs with some breakdown maintenance thrown in however, it is predominantley PPM work.

You'll be working on production equipment from Converyors to packaging lines and all in between.

You'll be working in a team of engineers reporting into the Engineering Manager or shift lead depending on who is covering the shift.

As a business they are wanting employ cadidates who aspire to develop and progress themselves whether that's skillset development or leadership progression - this will be supported internally.

This role will perfectly suit an engineer who has been in a Production / Manufacturing environment previously but hasn't had the opportunity to 'multi skill' themselves.

You'll be working in a team of 4 engineers per shift

Working on different types of Production equipment from packaging to conveyors and high speed production lines.

The site are about to have an injection of around £30 mil into the site which will increase the amount of project work on site.

Due to this growth and new production lines being installed, they are looking for a Spanish speaking Project Manager to lead all capital & CAPEX projects on site, whilst liaising with the central project function overseas.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage all new installation & modification projects
• Responsible for planning projects associated with civils, production & packaging machinery, utilities, chemicals & IT systems
• Allocate resources, communicate project objectives, create workflow plans
• Work really closely with the engineering team on functionality and the commissioning phases
• Liaise with other project managers across Europe, travel overseas to meet suppliers & OEM's
• Carry out meetings with suppliers, plant managers, procurement managers and contractors
• Define project specifications - prepare technical documentation for new installations
• Draft specifications for requesting technical bids from suppliers, OEM's and assign projects
• Control the budget for each project and report on timeframes, costings, availability, mapping

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be able to speak/understand Spanish - technically liaising with suppliers & OEM's overseas
• Experience of working in manufacturing, FMCG, engineering & production
• Happy to travel overseas if needed
• Must have come from an engineering background - understand electrical, mechanical, automation
• Any knowledge of IT Systems projects would be beneficial
• Highly organised, open & honest person
• Strong project planning, mapping, budget control and forecasting
• Able to produce technical specifications for projects
• Experience of liaising daily with suppliers & OEM's for production & packaging machinery/systems

Shift Engineer
Bedfordshire (MK40)

£40,500 + Overtime

Monday-Friday 3-Shift (6-2 / 2-10 / 10-6) + Weekend Call-Out Cover (£200 per weekend + overtime hourly rate when called in)

Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturer that is making a huge investment in the factory over the next 5 years. Due to this growth and new production lines being installed, they are looking to grow the engineering function with the addition of new shift engineers.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide electrical & mechanical support & repairs for all production equipment & site services
• Fixing production machinery, mixers, industrial processing equipment, conveyors, packaging machinery, automation & controls, PLC's, SCADA Systems, robots
• Supporting the engineering shift managers with project work - new machine & production line installs
• PPM's, electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving, machine upgrades
• PLC - electrical fault finding
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, machining & welding to make parts & repairs
• Work as part of a weekend call-out / standby rota when needed (£200 additional payments)

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be a multi-skilled engineer (electrical & mechanical)
• Apprenticeship trained or a time-served engineering with mechanical & electrical qualifications
• Be a health & safety and quality conscious engineer
• Must have previously worked in FMCG or packaging manufacturing
• Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & problem solving skills
• PLC - electrical fault finding - Siemens
• Experience of carrying out CI projects, new machine installations
• Experienced in planning & scheduling PPM work
• Must be happy covering a weekend call-out / standby cover when needed (additional payments)
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding & machining skills beneficial

• Carrying out PPM, inspections and monitoring of equipment when in use - carry out meter readings
• Working on a Transonic Wind Tunnel and associated equipment - variety of rotating machinery, large valves, pipework, water pumps and air compressors.
• Installation of new mechanical equipment on site.
• Follow Health, Safety and Environmental procedure.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Time-served Mechanical Apprenticeship.
• Mentor apprentices and less experienced employees when required.
