The post holder will primarily be based in the inpatient dispensary, working closely with the senior technician team, working to ensure patients receive their inpatient and discharge medication in a safe, efficient and timely manner.

Applicants must have BTEC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services and must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. ACPT would be an advantage.

The post includes participation in weekends (7 days), bank holidays and late duty rotas.

Senior Pharmacist Outpatients

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Outpatient Team at St Helier Hospital.

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivating team member who will work alongside the Principal Pharmacist, Outpatient Services and Clinical Trials to deliver a first class service to our customers, our staff, and healthcare professionals, preparing outpatient prescriptions, providing appropriate counselling, promoting the safe use of medicines, and other associated services.

We are looking for someone who is inspiring and who will re-invigorate our processes delivering a professional, efficient and caring service.

It is desirable that you have hospital experience to understand hospital prescribing and medicines management but if you only have experience of community pharmacy, you will bring transferable skills such as customer care and liaising with prescribers.

Main duties of the job
• Abide by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards of conduct, ethics and performance as well as standards for registered pharmacies, observing and applying all professional, ethical and legal obligations.
• Ensure that the Outpatient Pharmacy service is patient focused, responsive and appropriate and that the professional image of the department is upheld at all times.
• Work in the Outpatient pharmacy by undertaking responsibilities required as per JD including ensuring that medicines are dispensed in a legal, efficient and accurate way and that appropriate clinical and other checks have been carried out.
• Ensure patients are given appropriate counselling and information, regarding their medicines. To counsel patients on the use of their medicines if necessary.
• Provide professional leadership with the support of the Principal Pharmacist Outpatients in the pharmacy, ensuring all pharmacy practice, including their own, is within the boundaries described within the latest version of the Medicines, Ethics and Practice issued by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Ensuring individual patient needs are met and appropriate actions are taken to resolve issues and complaints as they arise.
• Participate in the clinical pharmacy service as appropriate includingparticipation in the late duty, seven day, bank holiday and on-call rotas.

This post is a Fixed Term Contract Maternity Cover from January - August 2025 . The role will involved Respiratory (including ITU and HDU), and being part of a 7 day working service and oncalls


• To provide a high standard physiotherapy service within each rotation undertaken
• To perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations of physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
• To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service, or a particular patient type, working with and without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training, clinical reasoning sessions, peer review and case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist is available if required, clinical work should be routinely evaluated.
• To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
• To liaise effectively with other disciplines
• To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams’ clinical practice within each rotation. Make recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for changes to practice by the team. May assist the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.

Reporting to the Assistant Service Manager for Cardiology, you will work closely with the Cardiology Administrative and Clerical team to support the administration and scheduling of day case, inpatient and outpatient activity for the Cardiology service. The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to a patient’s care pathway, tracking and supporting patients from referral to treatment &/or discharge.

The role will require some patient-facing activity, and you will also be expected to manage and support queries from patients, clinicians and fellow staff. Excellent telephone skills and good IT proficiency will also be essential in helping with day-to-day duties. The role requires the postholder to be able to work at both hospital sites for several days each week.

Senior Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse Paediatric Day Surgery
Band 6

Paediatric day surgery, are looking for an experienced Paediatric nurse to join their team as a Deputy Sister/charge nurse.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile individual to join us, where there will be opportunities to develop and extend skills across the whole department including pre and post-operative care.

The applicant must have an interest in day surgery, good communication and leadership skills, and experience in managing small teams. You will need to be flexible and able to contribute to the delivery of a high standard family-centred care. We will provide support and encouragement to enable you to develop and achieve your full potential.

We are a dedicated day surgery unit which has our own theatre, procedure room and recovery area on the same floor as our pre and post-operative ward. We work closely together as a team to ensure the patient and their families experience is of a high-standard throughout day surgery. Our unit consists of a small friendly team and the department has one theatre and a procedure room. We currently offer a variety of surgical procedures to our local community for children and young people up to 18 years of age.

The post holder:

*support the senior nursing team with team management, appraisals and staff education/training

*will be professionally accountable for maintaining their standards of professional practice in line with the NMC Code of Conduct.

* will work autonomously, managing a caseload of patients within the Paediatric day surgery unit, whilst working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, delivering high standards of holistic care for the group of patients within their sphere of responsibility

* will act as a clinical expert and be regularly responsible for the management and co-ordination of the clinical area and act as the day to day designated deputy for the Day surgery Unit.

* will educate and provide specialist knowledge in the care of patients to staff and students
