As a Senior Workforce and Career Development Specialist for the Biological & Physical Science (Laboratory) Career Community, you will perform Career Broadening assignments/duties:

• Serve as a Senior Workforce and Career Development Specialist under the Chief, Career Community Support Team
• Develop, maintain, and implement the talent management and career development plan for the assigned career community.
• Provide a central focus for an enterprise approach to employee development by integrating programs and processes into long-range business plans and talent management requirements.
• Directly support the assigned Career Community Leader and the Career Community Panel, made up of leaders from the assigned career community, and the Chief, Career Community Support Team.
• Collaborate and partner with internal and external stakeholders and serve as a technical expert in the assigned career community.

As a Public Health Advisor you will:

• Serve as the main liaison to coordinate study activities with participating public health organizations.
• Design and execute programs or projects that provide essential information for important segments of the general public.
• Research and evaluate key public health policies that are central to the organization's mission.
• Serve on review committees, study groups, public health task groups, or comparable groups delegated responsibility for reviewing and developing public health policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Prepare Congressional testimony, policy documents, briefings, reports, summaries, responses to requests for information, and other substantive documents.

As a Management and Operations Specialist you will:

• Monitoring, and evaluating current or projected complex, interrelated public health programs involving
  governmental and nongovernmental organizations, from multiple sectors at the community, State, national and/or international levels.
• Serve on the management team with responsibility for day-to-day operations of the office
• Collect and compile qualitative and quantitative information and data for use in program decisions.
• Provide human capital administrative, technical support, and guidance to a serviced organization.
• Coordinate personnel actions for assigned area(s) by monitoring and tracking all on-going and projected actions in order to meet the staffing needs of the organization.

As a Public Health Advisor (Violence Prevention) you will:

• Analyze existing or proposed violence prevention systems, strategies, services, or other health-related matters.
• Perform difficult assignments that affects populations in local, state, tribal, Federal, and international settings or public health programs that require advanced violence prevention expertise and judgment to support particularly complex program activities and very broad program applications on a continuing and frequent basis.
• Develop violence prevention public health messages with subject matter experts and develop messages into appropriate end products for communicating public health information to target audiences.
• Plan, implement, and present training systems for health practitioners, researchers, state domestic violence coalitions, and other professionals.
• Research and analyze the causes of violence including but not limited to suicide, child abuse and neglect, youth, teen, elder, intimate partner, and sexual violence problems that are caused by controversial, complex, and often conflicting factors.
• Conduct assessments, compliance reviews and negotiate and approve corrective actions, as needed.
• Review congressional and legislative actions; assess impact on public health program activities, initiatives, and policies; and initiate action accordingly.
• Serve as a representative to professional organizations to gain cooperation from these groups.

As a Public Health Analyst you will:

• Perform expert analysis and prepare intricate, substantive study reports to cover, at a minimum, study approach and methodologies, findings, and recommendations.
• Perform expert analysis of collected data and findings and interpret complex legislative, regulatory, and/or policy guidance for use in managing nationwide public health programs.
• Serve as the principal manager of considerable budgets for the assigned programs.
• Develop and manage budgets and approve funding expenditures.

As a Librarian you will:

• Oversee the activities of the library and provide assistance, guidance and training to library customers on accessing and retrieving information contained in the library system.
• Provide support for customers through in-depth reference and research on topics ranging from moderate to complex difficulty.
• Respond to informal requests for library information received in-person, via e-mail or phone, such as whether specific material (journal issue) has been received, where to find a given title in the collection, and how to access particular electronic resources.
• Interpret the information query to identify the nature of the information requested; select appropriate print and/or electronic information resources; perform literature searching; evaluate information retrieved and provide information it to the requestor.
• Provide technical services support for the library system, including acquisition of information from a variety of sources, cataloguing and classification of materials in the library collection using established cataloguing and classification systems and processes, inter-library loans of materials and other services essential to the operation of the entire library system.
• Participate in the development and testing of electronic information resources.
• Keep abreast of rapidly changing advances in the profession and of Agency initiatives through participation in professional associations, consortia, committees, workshops, panels, discussion groups, and advisory groups.

• Develop projects to identify, review, and analyze complex and highly visible actions such as public health legislation, executive directives, Departmental policy issuances, voluntary changes in practice by influential organizations or groups, as well as other influential statements of public health policy to identify any potential to impact on the activities of the organization.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with other organizational units including other Federal agencies and quasi-governmental groups and other key partners including national and international organizations.
• Serve as a point of contact for information about public health program evaluation activities.
• Oversee a variety of program development activities for the organization.
