As an Aerial Delivery Specialist, WG-5210-10, you will:

Inspect a variety of airdrop equipment such as parachutes, multi loop lines, extraction force transfer couplings, latch assembly couplings, cable assembly couplings, actuator assembly, release cargo parachute M-1, lanyard arming wire, connector parachute, timer delay assembly, link lower suspension, link assembly single suspension type IV, link assembly heavy duty, link 4 point, parachute release single knife, bracket suspension, and tie down cargo quick release.

Perform visual, dimensional, hands on, and operational inspection of the above listed equipment at the prescribed times. These inspections are in accordance with warnings, cautions, Army Regulations (AR), Technical Manuals (TM), Field Manuals (FM) and Department of Army Pamphlets (DA PAM, Safety of Use Messages (SOUM), and notes and Ground Precautionary Messages (GPM), for airborne safety.

Make judgmental decisions on proximity to tolerances and interrelated dimensions on timer delay systems of M-1 release, latch assembly couplings, cable assembly couplings, and actuator assembly.
Inspect for burrs, tears, significant fraying, rough spots, corrosion, pits, cracks, welds, cuts, foreign material, bends, damaged threads, adjusting collars, set screws, shank pins, and timers activate within specifications.

First inspect the AR 59-4 directed shop final inspection required for that specified type of load. The second inspection is the "before loading inspection". An airdrop Joint Air Drop Inspector (JAI) and Air Force Joint Airdrop Inspector (AFJAI) conduct joint inspections.

Complete the proper airdrop inspection form in the DD Form 1748 (Joint Airdrop Inspection Record) series and all sign the appropriate blocks to certify correct rigging of the load. The third inspection is "after loading inspection"; this is after the equipment is on board the aircraft and is rigged for flight and airdrop.

Perform inspection along with an AFJAI and the aircrew Load Master.

2. Troubleshoots equipment and diagnoses the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, and computer diagnostic tools. Utilizes embedded diagnostics in equipment and a wide variety of original equipment manufacturer system analyzers in order to determine the exact nature or extent of repair. Determines what adjustments may be necessary to complete work orders, and whether any additional repairs other than those specified or indicated on the work order are necessary.
3. Removes and disassembles engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems. Makes the appropriate repairs, overhaul, or modifications in accordance with the proper repair specifications and procedures. Reassembles engines and other systems, and adjusts, tests, and reinstalls in vehicles and equipment as necessary. Makes adjustments and repairs to electrical and suspension systems. May install pistons, sleeves, rings, bearings, rods, crankshafts, timing gears, and rocker arms. 4. Independently performs repairs and maintenance functions in remote locations that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems such as injectors, leaking wheel cylinders, corroded mufflers, fuel tanks, brake cylinders and worn brake shoes, voltage regulators, generators, injector pumps, and fuel pumps. As an Ammunition Inspector (Title 32), WG-6501-08, you will perform the below duties:

1. Performs Ammunition Inspections pertaining to the receipt, classification, storage, issue and shipment of ammunition items. May receive shipments of all types of ammunition and verify DA form 1348 against Depot surveillance Records for correct NSN and Condition Code. Ensures commercial carrier delivering ammunition has been inspected in accordance with regulations and standing operating procedures. Verifies quantity of containers for accuracy of nomenclature, stock and lot numbers against shipping documents and signs for shipments. Receives turn-ins from using organizations, counts each item received and inspects for serviceability. Classifies material to assure compatibility of explosive items. Studies new material to determine how it functions, how it is constructed and compatibility for storage purposes according to technical manuals. Assures that off post shipments of ammunition by commercial carriers are in accordance with ammunition policies and procedures and in compliance with Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) and DoD regulations. Assures that ammunition is managed by class in accordance with established regulations.
2. Conducts inspection of ammunition being turned-in to determine suitability for further training needs. Takes appropriate steps in this disposition of CCH material. Ammunition Condition Reports (ACRs) are prepared and sent to item manager for disposition of restricted and/or suspended items. If disposition is determined to be locally demilitarized; contact designated EOD team and assist with demilitarization mission.
3. Prepares items for shipment to other depots and/or installations. Using the correct DOT regulations and packing requirements, makes sure all shipments meet DOT requirements. Items to be shipped are palletized and banded according to the hazard class division. Takes each pallet and establishes the correct weight and cube. Uses appropriate technical manuals, determines the proper name and UN number. Using this information, the appropriate 1348's are filled out and sent to Transportation Officer.Studies new material to determine how it functions, how it is constructed and compatibility for storage purposes according to technical manuals.Conducts observations and inspections of ammunition: In storage, inspects ammunition for corrosion from moisture and deterioration. Inspects for dents, loose detonators/fuses, discoloration and softness of dynamite and stains from nitroglycerin. Marks defective ammunition as prohibited for issue. Inspects ammunition of using organizations to determine its condition. Ensure that safety and storage requirements are properly observed. Responds to units which have misfires and/or malfunctions with ammo items. Conducts inspection of ammunition being turned-in to determine suitability for further training needs. Maintains a list of suspended ammunition and prepares listing for reporting excess to proper authorities for disposition. Assures suspended ammunition is withdrawn and no lots issued. Prepares condition reports on all bad ammunition, suspended lots, etc. Directs packaging, stenciling proper loading and blockage of excess ammunition.
4. Demilitarization Inspections. Monitors ammunition and explosive related operations at firing sites and demilitarization areas for adherence to regulations and procedures concerning explosives, compatibility, quantity distance, explosive and personnel limits, transportation and utilization of protective equipment. Inspects ammunition and components using appropriate Ammunition Surveillance Procedures.
5. Transportation Related Inspections. Inspects empty military vans and trucks to insure that carriers meet standards for transporting ammunition, explosives, and other hazardous materials. Performs inspections of incoming and outgoing vehicles for blocking and bracing, compatibility and compliance with applicable storage and out loading drawings security requirements, as well as compliance with applicable DOT regulations. Assists QASAS or designated representative in monitoring procedures for loading and unloading of ammunition onto or from military aircraft. Accompanies local ammunition shipments and receipt, when required to ensure safe and secure movement of material across public roads.
6. Inspects storage facilities for proper storage, packaging, warehousing, structural defects, cleanliness, ammunition compatibility and compliance with Quantity-Distance requirements or applicable explosive safety waivers. Inspects lightning protection systems for proper grounding. Inspects ammunition items in storage for container condition, presence of fumes, external deterioration and marking, reporting any discrepancies or unsafe conditions to supervising QASAS or designated representative. Spot checks accountability and stock accounting procedures.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

1. Inspects a large variety of heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles such as attack tanks, large cranes, tank retrievers, fire trucks, bridge transporters, armored vehicle launched bridges, bulldozers, road graders, crawler tractors, power shovels, self propelled earth compacting equipment, self propelled artillery, etc. May also inspect heavy artillery, small arms, powered support and other equipment or components of equal or lesser complexity.
2. Inspects complex, interrelated mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems, equipment and their components while in operation or in a standby condition. Inspects and performs tests to braking, steering, and differential systems, which are mechanically integrated with the transmission; to large engines that directly power multiple hydraulic and pneumatic systems; to intricate fuel injection systems; to turret stabilization systems; and to other systems combined in a single, complex mechanical assembly. Uses specially designed testing methods and test equipment such as computerized test sets, precision gauges, electronic sensors, injector test stands, engine scopes, etc., to assure that tolerance and safety factors have been met.
3. Inspects equipment to determine repairs needed. Utilizes established Maintenance Expenditure Limits (MEL) to evaluate economic feasibility of repair(s). Considers a variety of factors such as cost and availability of parts, man-hours, and impact of time constraints on the mission to assess whether repair is economical. Recommends to a higher echelon to condemn equipment when the repair cost exceeds the established MEL. Prepares lists of needed repairs, parts, and man-hours authorized. Performs in-process inspections to assure that equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. Performs final inspection, certifying that equipment is in satisfactory operating condition, or rejects the work and returns the equipment to the repair shop with specific reports prescribing additional repairs.
4. Inspects the full range of equipment as described above at remote worksites in support of field organizations, field units during field exercise training periods, or before major pieces of equipment are sent for repair to a supporting maintenance facility. Serves as inspector on Command Maintenance Evaluation Teams (COMET) and/or as a member of Maintenance Assistance and Instruction Teams (MAIT)
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervises employees performing ATC electronic equipment repair and maintenance work. Assigns, directs and reviews subordinates' work, solves technical and administrative problems, and explains work and administrative requirements. Initiates requests to fill vacancies; recommends selections, reassignment, awards or other status changes for employees; approves ordinary sick and annual leave; and resolves informal complaints. Sets performance standards and prepares formal performance evaluations. Holds corrective interviews, taking disciplinary action as necessary. Initiates or participates in review and improvement of work methods, organizational features and position structure for economy and efficiency. Implements personnel, EEO and other programs, maintains administrative records and prepares required reports.

Develops and implements a training program for subordinate electronics technicians in accordance with Army Regulations (AR) and Training Circulars (TC). Provides classroom and hands-on training on assigned equipment to include research and preparation of training materials, preparation of a course lesson plan, establishing pass/fail criteria, and development of course exams. Attends and successfully completes formal training courses and on-the-job training programs. Maintains training records. Ensures electronics technicians are well trained, properly certified, and knowledgeable and proficient to comply with equipment certification responsibilities. Ensures electronics technicians are fully trained in all aspects of job-related safety, equipment safety, personal safety and security directives.

Interfaces with and provides expert technical advice and guidance to the Airfield Manager, installation leadership, higher headquarters, and associated government agencies on complex ATC equipment maintenance and support issues. Works closely with the Airfield Manager, Air Traffic Control Facility Chief, Department of the Army Representative (DAR), and other key installation personnel to ensure mission requirements are met with no adverse impact. Prepares, plans, support agreements, staff summary sheets, written reports and recommendations to leadership concerning equipment issues, problems, base support, and other limiting factors. Develops and publishes organizational level operating instructions as appropriate to assign responsibilities and delineate requirements for equipment operation, accountability, and maintenance. Directs and implements changes to maintenance practices and policies on the basis of sound management practices and guidance from governing directives. Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Provides input to the Airfield Manager regarding ATC equipment maintenance manpower and funding requirements for the annual Program Memorandum Objective (POM) process.

Serves as a senior electronics technician responsible for maintaining a highly-complex Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower used for safely guiding both civilian and military aircraft in the vicinity of the airport. Incumbent exercises judgment in the selection, interpretation and application of a wide range of most applicable established guidelines and methods for typical situations, and recognizes when guidelines and methods prescribed are not sufficient and modifies concepts, practices, and precedents to derive innovative approaches and procedures to meet specific atypical situations caused by compressed timeframes, electromagnetic interference or variances in electronic circuitry. Incumbent monitors individuals, small work groups or teams on site, and is responsible for oversight, maintenance, certification and documentation of assigned ATC and Navigational Aid systems and facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). Major, controversial problems are discussed with the ATC Facility Chief and Airfield Manager for the purpose of reaching unanimity of opinions and objectives. Decisions, recommendations, maintenance certifications and documentation of a punitive nature are conducted by the employee and are normally accepted as technically correct and binding on the agency. Incumbent is routinely required to formulate point papers, status reports and other correspondence in an effort to assist contract manager with understanding and accepting findings and recommendations related to the field of expertise.

Participates in, and conducts site surveys to determine the best location of new or relocated ATC facilities. Aids in the planning and design, or modifies existing electronic designs for the installation or modification of ATC facilities. Acts as local project manager for new equipment installation or equipment/facility upgrade to include maintenance of a prescribed project folder, coordination of project support requirements, and establishment of a new equipment stock list, preventive maintenance program, and training package.

As a Logistics Management Specialist, GS-0346-11, you will:

Plans and coordinates all matters pertaining to supply, organizational maintenance, troop movements, logistic readiness, services, and miscellaneous logistic support of the command and its subordinate elements. Maintains close and continuous coordination with such support activities responsible for logistic support operations as the USPFO, the CSMS, and DLOGS. Monitors logistic readiness by reviewing qualitative and quantitative reports on the status of equipment in comparison with requirements and availability. Prepares logistic estimates, reports, and plans and recommends actions to enhance the command materiel readiness posture. Reviews MTOE/TDA's and recommends additions and deletions. Makes recommendations regarding the distribution of critical end items affecting materiel readiness and oversees and coordinates actions resulting from acceptance of those recommendations. Advises and assists other staff personnel in logistic matters pertaining to their areas of responsibility and assesses current and proposed operations and plans for logistic impact.

Oversees, coordinates, and administers the logistic functions of the subordinate elements by developing and issuing policy guidance on logistic matters including receipt, storage, issue, turn-in, in-storage maintenance of supplies, property accountability, supply economy, supply discipline, troop movements and billeting for training exercises, etc. Initiates and coordinates training in supply subjects for appropriate personnel in the command. Analyzes the facilities requirements of the units and plans, coordinates, and/or recommends improvement, modification, and construction of facilities. Administers the Food Service Program of the Division and subordinate units. Coordinates with the Division Operations and Training Specialist for procurement of needed supplies, transportation, billeting, etc., in L.L;;".: 3f training activities. Visits units to conduct inspections and provide guidance and assistance in logistical matters. Supervises the Division Supply Discipline program. 'Develops guidelines for conducting convoy movements of troops. Works in close harmony with DLOGS personnel and DISCOM commander on such property matters as inventory adjustments, DLOGS Data Base, MTOE additions or deletion, etc.

Monitors equipment status, determines maintenance requirements, and recommends maintenance priorities. Coordinates maintenance support by external organizations. Evaluates the adequacy of the internal maintenance organization of the command, the skills of the personnel engaged in unit maintenance activities, and facilities and makes appropriate recommendations to improve or uphold the maintenance posture of the command.

Develops budget estimates for logistic areas such as troop movement, rations, supply, maintenance, etc. Serves as member of Division Program Budgeting Activity Committee (PBAC). Prepares justification for budget items. Recommends priority for expenditure of funds for procurement of needed items for support of operations.

As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic Inspector, WG-5801-11, you will:

Perform limited diagnosis, routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles.

Assist higher graded mechanics in the repair and/or overhaul of major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls.

Independently perform routine repairs and maintenance functions in remote locations that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems using standard parts.

Receive guidance and instruction from a higher graded mechanic or supervisor to perform non-routine and more complex repairs on portions of major assemblies and/or systems.

Conduct limited readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the activity.

Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and ensures vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc.

Recover and evacuates inoperable vehicles from the unit location of breakdown.

Determine when parts should be cleaned, adjusted or replaced with standard parts to complete work orders.

As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic, WG-5801-10, you will:

• Troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles. This may include self-propelled artillery, tracked cargo and personnel carriers, road graders, mobile cranes, front loaders, conveyors, bulldozers, power shovels, compressors, generators, tanks, tracked combat vehicles, sedans, buses, all terrain vehicles, trucks, semi trailers, forklifts, tractors, and accessory equipment. Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic and non-automatic transmissions, heavy duty drive line systems, and hydraulic utility systems and controls. Make repairs to assemblies and components such as voltage regulators, generators/alternators, brake cylinders, etc. Perform work in accordance with modification work orders, technical manuals, lubrication orders, maintenance bulletins, regulations or management policies. May repair a variety of more complex major systems to include engines, cross drive or similar multi-system transmissions and a variety of intricate fuel injection systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment and diagnose the cause of mechanical failures by means of visual and auditory checks and/or uses test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, and computer diagnostic tools. Utilize embedded diagnostics in equipment and a wide variety of original equipment manufacturer system analyzers in order to determine the exact nature or extent of repair. Determine what adjustments may be necessary to complete work orders, and whether any additional repairs other than those specified or indicated on the work order are necessary.
• Remove and disassemble engines and major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems. Make the appropriate repairs, overhaul, or modifications in accordance with the proper repair specifications and procedures. Reassemble engines and other systems, and adjusts, tests, and re-installs in vehicles and equipment as necessary. Make adjustments and repairs to electrical and suspension systems. May install pistons, sleeves, rings, bearings, rods, crankshafts, timing gears, and rocker arms. May be required to perform fuel injection equipment repair, overhaul, rebuild, and calibration duties utilizing a variety of complex test and calibration equipment.
• Independently perform repairs and maintenance functions in remote locations that can be accomplished by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, or replacing defective parts of components and systems such as injectors, leaking wheel cylinders, corroded mufflers, fuel tanks, brake cylinders and worn brake shoes, voltage regulators, generators, injector pumps, and fuel pumps. Provide technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower grade employees within the team. Assist lower grade mechanics in performing major repair work. May provide Field and limited Sustainment maintenance at unit locations as part of a "contact team." Recover and evacuate inoperable vehicles from the unit location of breakdown. May assist higher graded mechanics in repairing a variety of interconnected systems such as electrical, air and hydraulic systems, complex state of the art electrical and electronic systems that use specialized diagnostic equipment to identify problems, complex fuel injection systems and other similar complex systems.
• Conduct readiness and repair inspections on vehicles and associated equipment supported by the activity. Perform operational inspections and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, etc., and perform other preventive maintenance operations as required. Inspect supported equipment prior to use during Inactive Duty Training (IDT) and Annual Training (AT), to ensure that it is functioning properly. May inspect in-process repair work of lower graded repairer to ensure equipment is being repaired in accordance with pertinent requirements. May serve as a commodity inspector during Command Maintenance Management evaluations (COMET) or as a member of a Maintenance Assistance Instruction Team (MAIT). Instruct operator/crew in the maintenance of equipment and provide technical advice and assistance to supported units when requested.
• May maintain and repair electronics communication equipment by removing and replacing components and elements. Equipment includes such items as radios, field telephones, amplifiers, switchboards, recorders, intercoms.Assist in the maintenance of production reports and records, and makes recommendations to the supervisor.
