Salary - Approx £40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Location - Can be based anywhere M4 Corridor. Newport, Bristol, Swindon, London

Our Client carry out mainly domestic internal repairs following insurance claims.

Works are generally carpentry biased often with replacement kitchen units, worktops, skirting, doors etc. Works can also include flooring and drywalls / ceilings.

Our client offer job security, van, tools, all expenses paid and a regular flow of work without worry of where next job will come. They take care of pricing, scheduling, invoicing and payments so that you can focus on the successful delivery of quality work.

This type of work takes our client to various locations across the M4 corridor from South Wales to London. Work is on private residents that can vary in size. It doesn't involve housing association repair.

Requirements:-

• Skilled tradesperson with excellent Carpentry skills.
• Ideally is capable of small works and alterations of other trades
• SMSTS preferred but not essential
• DBS check will be required
• Driving license
• Polite & respectful (will be customer facing)
• Can be based in any location cross the M4 corridor.

The role:-

• Van and expenses paid
• Will be required to travel and stay away
• Work is Monday - Friday - approx. 42 hours per week
• Permanent role

Previous buying experience is a massive advantage but not essential

Must have excellent organisation, attention to detail, analytical and proficient excel / IT use

Duties include:

• To lead and manage the delivery of a competitive supply chain through strategic and operational procurement.
• To lead and manage the procurement team and department, with commercial and operational benefits being a key objective.
• Ensure the integrity and compliance with internal systems, processes and procedures.
• Actively ensure the department and team maintains appropriate liaison with internal stakeholders with the key objective of maintaining a pro-active approach.
• Ensure the continuity and expansion of the supply chain whilst maintaining competitive price solutions with the key objective of increased profitability.

Key Activities:

• Select suitable suppliers, prepare and issue enquiries, carry out quotation analysis and evaluation both on a project specific basis and longer-term strategic framework agreements for both material/equipment suppliers and sub-contractors.
• Negotiate and agree contracts for both goods and services in line with budget requirements.
• Negotiate and agree rebate contracts with key suppliers.
• Support and assist Project Quantity Surveyors in the selection and appointment of project specific labour teams and sub-contractors.
• Advise and liaise with estimators to ensure current cost information is communicated at bid stage and assist with obtaining competitive project specific quotes for goods and services.
• Ensure the procurement process is managed to facilitate project programmes.
• Attend internal meetings to support the delivery of projects in line with budget and programme requirements.
• Manage and co-ordinate the procurement and delivery of equipment on turnkey and key account projects.
• Report on price variants, target delivery performance and supplier service levels.
• Develop, maintain and improve supplier relationships and agreements.
• Quantify and produce schedules of materials and goods requirements from drawings and specifications.
• Undertake continuous monitoring and evaluation of the supply chain on both a regional and national basis, taking necessary actions to rationalise/expand the data base of suppliers.
• Ensure that all suppliers and sub-contractors are evaluated in line with company health & safety and competency requirements.
• Manage, support and mentor the procurement team to ensure efficiency of the department.

• Very good Excel skills
• Qualified or part qualified professional (CIPS, CIOB or RICS) would be an advantage
• Educated to minimum GCSE level.
• Be able to drive as not accessible via bus
