Driver
RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire
Full time, Permanent
Salary of salary £24,574.00 to £27,036 dependent on licenses plus 20% shift allowance on top
Serco have a new role as a Driver. You will be required to undertake all necessary driver duties around Brize Norton.
Main Accountabilities:
- Ensure that EU/GB driver and duty hours are fully complied with and where applicable, tachograph or GB Driver logbooks are fully completed.
- Ensure that driver tachograph/DCPC cards are carried and used correctly, where applicable.
- Carrying out vehicle daily pre use walkaround checks, reporting all defects to MT Ops control.
- Carrying out vehicle weekly pre use inspections, as required, reporting all defects to MT Ops control.
- Ensure all Company Policies and Directives relating to Road Transport and Dangerous Goods are fully complied with.
- Ensure the safety of passengers or the load through safe driving practices, including but not limited to:
- Wearing a seat belt and reminding passengers to wear seat belts.
- Correctly securing, protecting and monitoring the load during carriage.
- Driving within speed limits and in accordance with traffic regulations.
- Driving defensively and courteously.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the interior and the exterior of the assigned vehicle.
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to the task inaccordance with associated Risk Assessment.
- Ensure the prompt reporting to a supervisor of any damage to the assigned vehicle and the prompt reporting of any accidents or incidents in accordance with company policies.
- Participate in professional training and development activities, as directed.
- Notify the MT Manager or a nominated person whenever issues emerge that require their attention in respect of safety, risk, compliance, or standards or if a matter is likely to cause a delay to a forecasted job completion or training requirements.
- Shall perform other tasks which are reasonable and relevant to Serco at RAF Brize Norton as directed by a line manager.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Full Driving Licence, Cat D (Cat C desirable)
- DCPC Licence for respective licences held
- Hold a colour perception category of the required standard to enable the issue of an Airfield Driving Permit.
