Supply ELC Practitioner, Various Locations within West Lothian

West Lothian Council are looking for supply staff to provide supply cover within our nurseries which are open 52 weeks per year
Please note Interviews will be held between the 8th July 2024 and 18th July 2024
Nurseries opening times are 07.50 – 18.20 Monday to Thursday and
07.50 – 13.00 on Fridays
Purpose of the job
Work as a member of the nursery team. Actively support a high-quality learning environment for all children within an educational establishment. Effectively use positive behaviour strategies with all children in partnership with staff, parents, carers and other appropriate professionals.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge
Essential, you must hold one of the following to apply:
- Scottish Nursery Nurse Examination Board Certificate (SNNEB)
- National Nursery Examination Board Certificate (NNEB)
- HNC Childhood practice at SCQF Level 7
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) – Early Years Education and Childcare (SCQF Level 7)
- Higher National Diploma (HND) – Early Years Education and Childcare (SCQF Level 9)
- Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 – Early Years Care and Education (SCQF Level 7)
- Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 – Child Care and Education (SCQF Level 7)
- Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 - Children’s Care, Learning and Development – (SCQF Level 7)
- Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 - Social Services (Children and Young People) (SCQF Level 7)
Applicants should be eligible for registration with SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council)
This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the West Lothian Council.
