Job Description:
TCI Express Pte Ltd, a leading logistics and supply chain solutions provider specializing in air freight services, is hiring an experienced Business Development Manager to drive aggressive growth in the air freight sector.
This role will focus on identifying and securing new business from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting, generating leads, building new client relationships, and establishing TCI Express as a preferred partner for air freight services in both established and emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. New Business Acquisition:
- Take full ownership of lead generation and business development efforts to acquire new clients from scratch.
- Actively seek out and identify new opportunities in air freight and logistics through cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and other prospecting activities.
- Develop and execute strategies to approach potential clients, assess their needs, and introduce TCI Express as a valuable solution provider.
2. Client Relationship Building:
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with new clients, becoming their trusted point of contact for air freight services.
- Engage with key decision-makers across multiple industries (e.g., e-commerce, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals) to understand their needs and offer tailored solutions.
- Successfully manage the client onboarding process, ensuring smooth transitions from initial contact to service implementation.
3. Sales Target Achievement:
- Drive a high volume of new business opportunities and consistently meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs set by the company.
- Work independently to generate sales from scratch, with a focus on high-impact results rather than inheriting existing accounts.
- Maintain an active pipeline, reporting progress and key metrics to senior leadership.
4. Market Research & Industry Intelligence:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify industry trends, new market segments, and untapped business opportunities in the air freight and logistics sectors.
- Keep up-to-date on competitor activities, market conditions, and emerging client needs, adjusting strategies as needed to stay ahead.
5. Negotiation & Closing Deals:
- Lead the negotiation process, from initial discussions to contract finalization, ensuring agreements are in place that benefit both TCI Express and the client.
- Develop customized pricing proposals and service offerings that meet client specifications and expectations.
- Drive the closing process, managing all aspects of the deal cycle with a focus on securing long-term business.
6. Reporting & Performance Monitoring:
- Regularly track and report sales activities, progress, and outcomes, adjusting strategies based on performance data.
- Provide feedback on market conditions, client feedback, and sales challenges to senior management.
Qualifications:
• Experience:
1. Minimum of 2 years of business development experience in the air freight, logistics, or supply chain industry. Proven success in building new client relationships and closing new business.
• Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree/Diploma
• Skills:
1. Strong knowledge of air freight services, international logistics, and global shipping networks.
2. Exceptional prospecting, cold-calling, and lead generation abilities.
3. Demonstrated experience in negotiating contracts, pricing, and closing deals.
4. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
5. Strong self-motivation with a results-driven mindset and ability to work autonomously.
