INTRODUCTION: These positions are located within a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization. Its primary purpose is to inspect, repair, modify, and service aircraft systems, components, and assemblies, both on- and off-aircraft.

DUTIES:

(1) Performs inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft to include periodic, phase, hourly, preflight, postflight, calendar, thru-flight, and special inspections such as fuel contamination, emergency equipment, and oil sampling. Inspects and performs functional checks such as landing gear retraction and operation checks on hydraulic, electrical, pressurization, lubrication, de-icing, vacuum, induction, and exhaust systems. Installs equipment such as external tanks, tow reels, hoists, and pylons.

(2) Troubleshoots and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft, utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices and other related test equipment. Performs major adjustments and alignments of aircraft systems or components and assists specialists as required. Removes and replaces aircraft components such as control surfaces, engines, constant speed drive, engine mounted gear boxes, wing fuel tanks or cells, landing gear mechanisms, wheels, brakes and tires. Services oil, fluid, fuel, hydraulic, and oxygen systems. Adjusts and maintains installed equipment such as tow targets, hydraulic reels, and drive assemblies. Removes and replaces working or inoperative parts and elements. Performs operator maintenance on aircraft installed auxiliary power units. Tows, taxies, parks, and moors assigned and transient aircraft. Meets and debriefs the aircrew on the status of the aircraft. Launches and recovers assigned and transient aircraft to include those on alert status. Performs end-of-runway inspections prior to take-off. Inspects for conditions such as oil, fuel and hydraulic leaks; damaged tires; and loose panels which would make the aircraft unsafe for flight.

(3) May be required to perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification, and corrosion prevention. Inventories, controls, stores and repairs 780 equipment. Accomplishes and reviews nonpowered AGE and 780 equipment records relating to assigned equipment.

(4) Provides data for aircraft maintenance historical records, complete maintenance data collection, man-hour accounting, and other forms as required. Assists the aircraft maintenance supply function in identifying parts and stock numbers and obtaining necessary parts and tools to perform assigned duties.

(5) Instructs, directs, and assigns maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members. Observes work and ensures compliance with standard procedures and applicable technical publications.

(6) Complies with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations. Ensures that material and equipment are properly stored, protected, maintained and secured.

(7) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as MEI, ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operator, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.

(8) Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is located in a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization. Its primary purpose is to perform on- and/or off-equipment maintenance on assigned aircraft pneudraulic systems, components and related aerospace ground equipment.

b. DUTIES:

(1) Performs maintenance and operational and functional checks on assigned pneudraulic systems. Troubleshoots, removes, inspects, installs, repairs, modifies, rebuilds, and/or tests pneudraulic systems and components for aircraft pneudraulic systems, associated ground support equipment, and/or related test equipment. Accomplishes periodic and special inspections on hydraulic components. Inspects all components and subsystems for operation, internal, and external leakage and servicing. Operates portable test stands for checkout of pneudraulic system. Removes, installs, and/or repairs Pneudraulic components from aircraft and associated aerospace ground equipment. Removes, disassembles, cleans, repairs, assembles components, and tests completed unit. Operates test equipment for all hydraulic components. Inspects for cracks, scratches, nicks, and holes on seals, gaskets, packings, and hoses. Modifies systems and their components. Rigs, adjusts, and aligns hydraulic components to ensure maximum operating efficiency. Polishes cylinders and pistons to ensure proper fit. Investigates pneudraulic failures to determine causes and accomplishes corrective maintenance.

(2) Performs installation, modification, and/or repair of aircraft pneudraulic systems. Determines proper maintenance and repair procedures and minimum requirements pertaining to parts, clearance and tolerances, and performance characteristics of pneudraulic systems and related aerospace ground equipment. Solves unusual maintenance problems by studying layout drawings, schematic diagrams, applicable technical publications, and analyzing construction and operating characteristics of pneudraulic systems. Determines repair procedures necessary to correct defective equipment. Diagnoses recurring malfunctions and recommends corrective action by initiation of Quality Deficiency Reports, proposed modifications, or other appropriate actions. Performs Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTOs) related to pneudraulic systems. Accomplishes local manufacture of hose assemblies and provides testing of aircraft tubing. Accomplishes hydraulic fluid sampling on assigned aircraft, test stands, and servicing equipment. Repairs in-flight refueling systems on tanker aircraft.

(3) Performs organizational and field level maintenance to include periodic, phase time, calendar, unscheduled, and special inspection. Provides technical assistance to other shops concerning
complicated interaction malfunctions between other systems, subsystems, and components. Jacks aircraft to simulate flight configuration, connects power sources, and uses cockpit controls, gauges, and additional precision instruments to check the operation of such items as landing gear doors, ground and flight spoilers and steering and brake systems for performance and conformance to operating specifications.

(4) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, serve as security guard, remove snow, load and handle munitions, launch/recover and service of aircraft, operate heavy equipment, maintain facilities and equipment, or serves as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.

(5) Performs other duties as assigned.

This position is located within a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization. Its primary purpose is to accomplish the inspection, repair, modification, installation and troubleshooting of sheet metal, fiberglass, bonded honeycomb and other structural materials and components as well as treatment (i.e., mechanical and chemical), and painting of missiles, aircraft powered and non-powered Aerospace Ground Equipment (AGE), and monitoring aircraft and equipment washing.

b. DUTIES:

(1) Independently inspects aircraft and determines the nature and extent of repairs to be made, using applicable technical orders as guidelines. Works directly on the aircraft and its components, fulfilling such tasks as removal, repair, modification and installation of parts and assemblies, such as frames, stringers, longerons, bulkheads, beams, ribs, spars, skin, cowling, brackets, faring, access doors, panels and other related items. May be required to clear red "X" conditions.

(2) Repairs cracks in aircraft skin. Fabricates and fits patches to damaged areas, determining repair detail necessary to retain or restore original strength. Fits and trims components to aircraft such as landing gear doors, control surfaces, flaps access doors and other assemblies. Seals structures to make them pressure, water and weather tight.

(3) Troubleshoots aircraft structural repair situations in such areas as fuselage, tails, wings, cowlings, and stabilizers. Removes, forms, fits, and installs highly stressed and double contoured skins, using hand or powered drilling and cutting tools and other metal working equipment. Determines shear and bearing load factors during rivet replacement. Installs heads up, regular, heat treated, high shear, and blind type aircraft rivets and fasteners, using pneumatic riveters, special tools and bucking bars. Removes damaged or broken fasteners and receptacles.

(4) Aligns and balances component structures and airframe using precision measuring instruments and levels. Performs metal-to-metal bonding where delamination of surfaces and core material occurs in control surfaces.

(5) Inspects damage or deterioration and determines repair or replacement of plastic, fiberglass, composites, bonded structures, and bonded honeycomb assemblies using powered and non-powered tools and equipment. Repairs or replaces retaining frames and installs plastic laminated blanks. Designs and constructs forming fixtures.

(6) Manufactures and ensures that metal tubing, conduits and cables are fabricated and tested in accordance with drawings and specifications. Fabricates and repairs flexible control cables.

(7) Performs fabrication of local manufactured items requited for aircraft and equipment. Work includes layout, bending, cutting, forming and assembling. Devise and calculates patterns employing the principles of triangulation, radial and parallel line development.

(8) Sets up and operates power shears, brakes, rolls, dimpling machines, drill presses, saws, portable powered tools, specific detection and measuring equipment, and other metal working equipment, including use of other tools of the trade. Requisitions necessary supplies and equipment for the activity.

(9) Prepares and designs layout, dies, jigs, and templates necessary to carry out fabrication repair or modification of aircraft, engine, AGE, and other equipment. Works from blueprints, technical orders diagrams, and work orders.

(10) Identifies metal corrosion. Performs necessary testing to identify type corrosion present by examination with magnifying equipment, chemical and mechanical methods and treats aircraft engines, in accordance with applicable technical publications. Ensures that work assignments received from supervisor or maintenance control are accomplished in a timely manner.

(11) Removes corrosion by mechanical and chemical procedures to include use of portable powered (electric and pneumatic) sanders, buffers, brushes, bead blasters, vacuum cleaners, scrapers, grinders, acids, caustics, solvents, alcohols and other agents used in corrosion control processes. Treats metal with chemical procedures, such as acids and caustics for passivation and etching, to protect metal from oxidation. Performs such functions as pickling of metals to prepare for good bonding with primer coat of protective materials.

(12) Applies protective coatings, markings, and decals after proper removal of corrosion and treatment of metals. Uses conventional paint spray equipment, electrostatic spray equipment, brushes and special applicators when applying primers and surface coatings.

(13) Identifies, blends, stores, controls, and disposes of hazardous materials such as acids, caustics, alcohols, solvents, cleaners, primers and surface coatings used for corrosion removal, treatment and protection in accordance with applicable directives.

This Lead Transportation Security Officer position is located at Bangor International Airport (BGR), Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Lead Transportation Security Officer (LTSO), you will be responsible for leading at least three full-performance level Transportation Security Officers (TSOs) and, as assigned, trainee and apprentice level TSOs. This Transportation Security Officer position is located in Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSOs) within Security Operations (SO), you will provide security and protection of air travelers, airports and aircraft in a courteous and professional manner. Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported onto aircraft.

Currently, Midlothian has 6 secondary schools, 32 primary schools (19 of which have nurseries) and 2 stand alone nursery schools. Our special school, Saltersgate, provides support for children with a range of physical, social, emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties. The schools range in size from our smallest primary school with around 20 children to our largest secondary with over 1200 pupils. We have a diverse range of school catchments, from rural to urban settings. We are fortunate to have a growing number of new build schools, with 15 of our primary schools and 1 secondary having been built within the last 10 years and several new builds planned.
