· Welcoming customers to the store and answering their queries. -Assess customer needs and wants: answer customer questions and concerns. -Provide appropriate product recommendations. -Ensure merchandise is in-stock and displayed on shelves in a presentable. -Build relationships with customers, especially regular customers.

· Create a variety of ongoing promotional activities to increase revenues. These can include daily specials, coupons, discounts, a loyalty restaurant that encourages repeat dining, and training wait staff to upsell appetizers, desserts and drinks. In addition to these types of promotional activities, able to develop larger business opportunities, such as group sales, offsite catering, a proprietary, private-label sauce, delivery service and corporate events.

· Accomplishes marketing and sales human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

This Case Management Assistant position is located Direct Reports, Civil Rights and Liberties, Ombudsman and Traveler Engagement, Transportation Security Administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:

• Using detailed knowledge and experience, accesses the redress case management database to process and track redress applications from the traveling public, and reviews incoming applications for completeness ensuring that they are referred to the correct partner organization for analysis.
• Assists supervisor in researching and obtaining information to prepare findings, review plans and special studies.
• Prepares a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring reports and other documents and reviews/finalizes documents prepared by others.
• Carries out administrative support functions including organizational inbox management and file maintenance. Incumbent plans and coordinates the work of the office.
• Composes and reviews outgoing correspondence and action papers submitted to ensure that the materiel is properly prepared, coordination is completed, procedural requirements have been met, grammar is correct, and security markings are correctly applied.

The ASPCA’s Animal Relocation team is responsible for transporting more than 35,000 dogs and cats each year. Using both land and air transportation, the ASPCA partners with “source” shelters in areas with high homeless pet populations and transports animals to “destination” shelters in communities where adoptable animals are in high demand.  

This lifesaving work is only possible with the highest standards for animal care and the right tools and equipment in place. We are seeking temporary, part-time Animal Relocation Vehicle, Crate & Inventory Assistants, a contracted position hired through The Forum Group, to support the movement and maintenance of fleet vehicles, inventory of equipment and supplies, vehicle and crate sanitation, and use of the local waystation for transports.

This is a contracted position hired through The Forum Group. Given the per diem nature of this position, part-time team members will be employed through a third-party staffing agency and not by the ASPCA.  

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include:  

Vehicle Driving and Maintenance (60%)  

• Drive an ASPCA vehicle or rented box truck between ASPCA partner shelters, vehicle vendors, storage units, and airports
• Park and maneuver vehicles in a safe manner, following all ASPCA policies and guidelines
• Complete routine maintenance checklist (e.g. check coolant and oil levels) for vehicles 
• Complete all necessary forms for vehicle maintenance and repair, as well as any required logs (pre/post-transport reports, trip logs, etc.) to inform managers about needed maintenance and repairs 
• Thoroughly clean and disinfect all areas of the vehicle in accordance with ASPCA Standard Operating Procedures 
• Drive vehicles to scheduled maintenance appointments and for exterior cleaning 
• Assist with minor repairs and maintenance as needed
• Provide accurate and responsible oversight of fleet card and corresponding receipts 
• Use iPad and iPhone for capturing data and communicating with managers 
• Understand OSHA regulations and requirements on the vehicle 

Inventory Management (20%) 

• Organize and inventory crates, kennels, equipment and supplies as needed
• Audit vehicles as directed to ensure each truck is transport-ready with all appropriate equipment and supplies
• Record inventory accurately and timely in Airtable database 
• Communicate replacement supply needs to management 
• Communicate challenges with inventory clearly and timely to management, in order to help save more lives 

Vehicle & Crate Sanitation (10%)  

• Thoroughly disinfect vehicles and crates in accordance with ASPCA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in order to keep animals safe and healthy; repeatedly bend, crouch, and kneel throughout multi-step process in a variety of weather conditions 
• Utilize provided PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) 
• Paint crates with identifying information and apply barcodes

Transport Support (10%) 

• Assist Animal Relocation Drivers with loading, unloading, daily care, and cleaning as animals on transport arrive, overnight and depart from the Chattaneuter Waystation
• Safely manage animals to maximize personal safety and safety of animals and teammates 
• Represent the ASPCA in a professional manner at all times when communicating with shelter staff and the general public, serving as an ambassador for our mission-driven work 

Qualifications: 

• Deep commitment to saving more shelter pets’ lives through critical transport assistance work 
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision  
• Exceptional detail orientation  
• Ability to precisely follow written protocols  
• Experience with cleaning animal housing (preferred, not required) 
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds 
• Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel  
• Basic computer skills required; familiarity with using an iPad and iPhone preferred 
• Demonstrates care and concern for the well-being of animals  
• Ability to take responsibility for project management 
• Must be able to drive eight hours in shifts as part of a team
• Must be comfortable being on the road for up to sixteen hours at a time

Compensation: $18/hr

Availability: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays and some weekends. This role is comprised of occasional work that arises throughout the week, often last-minute in nature, that may fluctuate in hours based on need. Candidate must be located within 30 miles of CHA Airport.

Candidates must have five or more years of driving experience, provide a valid driver’s license upon hire and pass a motor vehicle history check demonstrating a safe driving history.
