Decontamination Driver 30 Hours Per Week (20 Hours a Week Would Also Be Considered) Full flexibility 7 days a week will be required. We are now inviting applications for the post of Decontamination Driver to join our busy team at Sterile Services North West, Preston. We are seeking a competent individual to work in our Sterile Services Unit as a Driver, the primary driving role will include the collection and delivery of medical instruments from/to four of our local Ramsay hospitals plus other various site related duties will be required. Flexibility from the successful candidate is essential as the Hub operates 7 days a week. Shifts will be varied, examples of these are; 6am-3pm. 12pm-8pm 5-am10am 5am-11.30am 4.30pm-8.30pm 2.30pm-10pm A full driving license will be required for this role. Duties to include, but not be limited to: Communicates all relevant information and advice to the pharmacy, nursing and medical teams; patients and service users; and with external organisations as required Provide an effective ward top up service to wards/departments of the Trust Provide an effective medicine supply service to external customers who include Lancashire Care, GPs, Private hospitals and other NHS hospitals. Provides an effective reception service whilst working on the phone rota, receiving incoming work and dealing with customer enquiries. Receive all incoming orders in line with MHRA and Good Distribution Practice. These then require onwards delivery to wards and departments throughout the hospital so that our patients have access to the medicines that they need. There is also a requirement to use both hand and electric pallet trucks. Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure an accurate exchange of information about catering tasks and service needs. Communicate with a range of customers in person and over the telephone to understand individual needs and provide information relating to the catering service Undertake duties relating to food ordering, distribution and storage, including:- Delivering and collection of meal trolleys to wards and departments, using trust vehicles as required. Delivering and collection of meal trolleys to wards and departments, by foot as and when required to support the team. Review daily ordering of perishable and non-perishable goods as requested, providing the information in a timely manner to the catering office for processing. Receiving all Catering deliveries of food and other goods. Store food items appropriately and rotate stock accordingly. Participate in stock take processes as requested by supervisor or manager. Delivery to any designated place as per daily schedule of all Award Catering requisitions. Delivering between and Chorley and Preston sites on a daily basis. Undertake cleaning either manually or using mechanical equipment catering stores areas. Report any defective equipment or health and safety hazards to immediate supervisor. Delivering goods using trust transport To undertake collections and deliveries of catering goods and patient/staff meals between Trust sites and manage vehicle in line with Trusts Transport Handbook. Proactively support the continued development of the catering service. Demonstrate diligence with regard to security of Trust property. Maintain and develop own competence.
