The School of Science is an exciting and dynamic environment in which to work and study. We presently support over 1300 students across a variety of courses which include A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Geology, as well as Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science.
Due to the current post holder securing a new position, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to support the delivery of science subjects across the school. This role is ideally suited for an individual with excellent organisation and communication skills, the ability to prioritise tasks effectively, and a solid understanding of practical work across the scientific disciplines. Your new school is a large secondary school with academy status located in Rossendale. The school is coeducational and caters for pupils aged 11-18. Your new role
Joining a high achieving department, you will be responsible for teaching Science to KS4. The role is to commence as soon as possible and will operate, full time, ongoing on a temporary basis. You will also be required to mark and assess all work ensuring that pupils are progressing in line with their target grades.

The fundamental responsibilities applying to all classroom teachers are set down in the current Professional Standards for Teachers document which are summarised below. All teaching staff will be responsible to the appropriate Head of Department or Faculty for their teaching role and to the appropriate Head of Year for their pastoral role.
