Managing a caseload of Research & Development related contracts within the Oxford Joint Research Office including developing, processing and negotiating research related contracts to enable efficient start-up of research projects. The OUH Research Contracts team support Oxford Health with its mental health research agreements and the post holder will focus on these.

We are looking to recruit and train an enthusiastic, motivated Research Contracts Specialist to join the R&D Office based at OUH Cowley. The team is responsible for the execution of contract negotiation and innovation management. This is a fixed-term full-time post of 24 months. The team would consider part-time of 0.8 FTE. it is possible that the contract will be extended beyond 24 months if the successful candidate meets their targets. The hope is to promote one band 6 in the team once fully trained.

The post holder will liaise with researchers, clinicians and relevant administrators to ensure an effective service is provided to both internal and external service users. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential. You will be joining a friendly, team which provides ongoing development and support.

1. Scrutinising and negotiating research-related contracts on behalf of the OUH and OH.
2. Liaising with researchers, clinicians and the relevant administrators to keep them informed and seek their advice as to risks and benefits of the contract terms.
3. After consultation with the Head of IP and Research Contracts, working with the OUH or University of Oxford Legal Services team on the drafting of contractual language to meet the needs of particular negotiations or seeking advice on particular issues.
4. Keeping comprehensive records of each stage of the negotiations. Seeking advice from Head of IP and Research Contracts and other team members where appropriate.
5. Taking part in regular team meetings to review cases, and monitor caseload and completion times.
6. Preparing the final briefing note requesting signature of agreements, setting out key terms and any risks or issues.
7. Answering enquiries about OUH’s research-related policies and procedures, and providing advice to researchers, departmental administrators and sponsors on funding and contractual matters (in relation, for example, to the costing and pricing of research at Oxford, IP management, etc).
8. Liaising within the OUH Research & Development team on issues relating to finance, regulation and governance, the University’s Research Grants specialists on questions relating to research grant applications and the terms/conditions set down by funding agencies.
9. Ensuring the set-up of awards within OUH financial system, working with Research & Development Finance Team on OUH set-up and post-award issues.
10. Following procedures for the effective management of IP arising out of research contracts, liaising with the Head of IP and Research Contracts and the University of Oxford’s IP Right’s Management Team, in connection with the commercialisation of research through Oxford University Innovation Limited.
11. Arranging meetings, preparing agenda papers, recording minutes and producing action notes in connection with the work of the office.
12. Dealing with enquiries and requests for information and preparing draft correspondence on behalf of the Head of IP and Research Contracts, the Director of R&D or his/her deputies as required.
13. Contributing to the development of OUH policy as it relates to the external funding of research, and drafting briefing notes for senior officers and/or papers for OUH’s governing bodies in this area.



Other duties as assigned by the Head of IP and Research Contracts, or Research Contract Manager when the need arises.

The post is part of a small team working on research related contracts, grants and innovation within OUH R&D as part of the JRO. The team operates a hybrid on-site/off-site approach to working but is based at OUH Cowley when on-site. In addition, face-to-face contact may be required with Oxford University and other Oxford JRO partners at their locations. Work at other OUH sites may also be required from time to time.

As Conservation Project Manager you will bring together project management skills, specialist conservation and collections care expertise, problem solving, and team leadership skills to deliver collections projects at NCC. More information about NCC can be found below.

Reporting to the Group Conservation Manager, you will work collaboratively and proactively with other Project Managers and departments to enable the Conservation team to deliver Masterplan and Collections Services projects. This includes ensuring that conservation and collection care elements are correctly scoped and resourced and that conservation budgets are managed accordingly.

You will manage and matrix manage conservators across several projects. Using your conservation specialist knowledge of materials and practices, you will help your team plan works and review processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, making decisions to improve efficiencies and ways of working.

Full time (35 hours), Fixed term contract until Dec 2025 - Hybrid working from Wroughton Office.
Offering £40,133 per annum

Applications are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to work within a large, dynamic trials unit looking after haemato-oncology patients. It is a 1-year fixed term post on the Early Phase Cancer Trials Unit (EPCTU) in the Department of Oncology and Haematology.

The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients with haematological malignancy (with a focus on lymphoid) on the Early Phase Cancer Trials Unit. There will be an opportunity to develop research projects in clinical trials and translational science, and training will focus on the design, setting up and execution of clinical research.

The post is available from September 2024.

The Department of Computer Science is looking to employ a Postdoctoral Researcher to work within an interdisciplinary team on securing convergent ultra-large scale infrastructures (SCULI). The SCULI project is a research collaboration between University of Oxford, University of Bristol and the University of Lancaster that will be working closely with stakeholders and organisations from industry and the critical national infrastructure sectors.

The project is investigating how to secure emerging ultra-large scale digital infrastructures which are seeing convergence and connectivity at unprecedented scale. This is true for both current critical national infrastructures and emerging future systems, e.g., smart cities, intelligent transportation, high-value manufacturing and Industry 4.0. Cybersecurity of such ultra-large scale infrastructures faces unprecedented complexity. Diverse legacy and non-legacy software and hardware compose on-the-fly to deliver services to millions of users with varying requirements and unpredictable actions. This complexity is compounded by intricate supply-chains and the need to deliver resilient operations in the presence of untrusted, partially trusted or compromised elements.

The successful candidate will be required to work primarily under the direction of Professor Ivan Flechais, with guidance from other senior academics and will be based in the Oxford team focused on the following research objectives:

• Predictability at ultra-large scale: How to elicit, specify and validate security assurances for service composition in the presence of uncertainty, dynamism and human behaviour (including addressing direct and indirect dependencies and resulting systemic risks)?

It is essential that successful candidate would hold a relevant PhD/DPhil or being close to completion in computer science or information systems.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with researchers working across the SCULI project, and cybersecurity professionals from business and industry.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Specialist Research Nurse to join the Oxford Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) team at the Churchill Hospital.

The Senior Specialist Nurse will lead the nursing team to provide expert nursing care to patients referred to the Oxford BMT service contributing to this within the BMT pathway through management of their own caseload.

The post holder will work in collaboration with the Haematology Trial Unit , which is involved in a wide spectrum of clinical research relating to blood disorders including advanced cellular therapeutics. The team works in collaboration with academic and commercial partners/other funding bodies and is responsible for the delivery of the phase 1-3 haematology research portfolio.

In summary, the post holder will provide expert nursing care to patients enrolled into clinical trials at the Oxford BMT Research service.

To help organise and facilitate co-design workshops with community groups and individuals with lived experience of psychosis from Bangladeshi, Black African, and Black Caribbean backgrounds. Screening and recruitment of patients diagnosed with psychosis and patients at ultra high risk pf psychosis. This will involve speaking to referrers regularly, attending clinical team meetings, visiting community mental health teams, hospital wards, as well as home based treatment teams. There will be monthly recruitment targets for all studies. The post-holder will be joining a team of research assistants to help meet these targets. Completing eligibility screening assessments and seeking informed consent from patients. Carrying out the assessments for the trials. The trial patients will be assessed on a range of measures at a number of time points for each study. You will need to arrange these interviews and administer clinical interviews, assessment tasks, and self-report questionnaires. Participants will be seen in clinic settings or at home across a large geographical area. Patients are seen in multiple NHS trusts including: Oxford Health, Northamptonshire Healthcare, Berkshire Healthcare, and Central Northwest London (Milton Keynes). Assessments will be carried out blind (i.e. you should not know which condition thepatients have been randomised to). You will need to remind staff and patients not to tell you the allocation. And you will need to report if you have become unblinded. It will be crucial to maintain very high follow-up rates for the trial participants, meaning you will need excellent engagement skills. Good record-keeping will be needed, including updating medical records with trial progress and managing recruitment databases. The Research Services Manager is a critical role that will be based at the Churchill Hospital and responsible for line management duties across a friendly multi-disciplinary team of nurses, radiographers, administrators and data managers.
