An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic nurse leader to lead and manage the Vaccine and Trials Team and Infection Research Team.

The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and is a one year fixed-term contract that can be applied to as a secondment.

The successful candidate will be an expert research nurse with proven leadership skills, flexibility and excellent organisational skills. You will be supported by Head of research Workforce, R&D leads and leaders within the directorate as well a network of Research Matrons and Managers.

University College London Hospitals (UCLH) undertakes world-class research across many specialities including early phase, cancer, haematology, and neurology. As a senior research pharmacy technician (or Science Manufacturing Technician) you will be part of the pharmacy clinical trials team facilitating this research. Your key role is to set up new studies, maintain current and historical studies, and oversee the storage and receipt of clinical trials medicines. You will also be an important part of the team providing a high-quality dispensary service to our patients.


The postholder will acquire a broad overview of injectable research medicines, research delivery, dispensary management, and research governance, therefore would suit anyone with an interest in these areas. Prior experience of clinical trials or hospital pharmacy is desirable but not required.

Ideally you will be a GPhC registered pharmacy technician with 1-2 years’ experience although all training and support will be provided by our supportive team including our education & training lead. Those wishing to enrol on formal training courses can do so via external (on application) and in-house learning & development programmes.

Responsibilities:

• Acquire leads and research projects from existing connections and professional firms including consulting, market/industry research firms.
• Conduct and manage objective research on current market trends, the client’s potential partners, the competition landscape, and other related topics to support critical analysis.
• Checks, analyses, and finalizes the output/deliverable from the local team.
• Develop new business opportunities and relationships to grow the business and aid expansion efforts.
• Conduct market research analysis to identify areas of improvement and/or seek new opportunities for growing/expanding work with existing clients.
• Plan strategically while adhering to company and industry regulations to ensure project success ensure smooth operation.

Qualifications:

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of business development and consulting experience in a market research agency or market research consultancy (eg: Kantar,etc).
• Strong knowledge of successful marketing strategies.
• Extroverted and proactive with strong project management and leadership skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Native and Japanese speaking and writing is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop clients’ relationships and participate/collaborate in teamwork or group settings.

Full Time Faculty, Tenure Track Position (open rank) in Sustainability, School of Social Sciences (SOSS)

Established in 2007, the SMU School of Social Sciences (SOSS) provides high quality undergraduate and graduate education expanding SMU’s pedagogical strategy to the study of society, government, and individuals embedded within an increasingly complex world. With faculty expertise and research spanning the disciplines of psychology, political science, sociology, and philosophy, SOSS’s research covers key thematic areas such as international development, policy and politics, Southeast Asian studies, social movements, and sustainability. The School aspires to make a significant and lasting contribution across sectors through its integrative approach to the study of social issues.

Sustainabilityforms a core research priority for SMU under its Vision 2025 research strategy. Sustainability is also a key focus for SOSS for our undergraduate program in Sustainable Societies as well as the Master of Sustainability (MST) launched in 2024. The new position will form a key part of the plans to consolidate the School of Social Science’s interdisciplinary contribution to research and teaching in sustainability.

Position:

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS) invites applications for an open rank (Assistant, Associate, Full Professor) tenure track position in Sustainability, with a specific focus on environmental policy and governance, sustainable development, or environmental sociology to begin in July of 2025. The School is particularly interested in environmental social scientists with an established research and teaching repertoire or high potential for scholarly work on topics related to sustainability, including collaborative governance, the water-energy-food nexus, natural resource management, climate institutions and partnerships, and sustainability governance and analytics. Those with a research focus involving Asia are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate a high level of social science research excellence, appropriate to the rank of position to which they are applying.

Singapore Management University is committed to an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum, providing opportunities to work with faculty across the social sciences. The research support is excellent, and salary and benefits are highly competitive. The teaching load is relatively light and undergraduate classes are capped at no more than 45 students.

Experience:

Applicants must have -

· A PhD. in public policy, sociology, or a closely related field.

· A record of internationally excellent research at the intersection of environmental sustainability, society, and policy.

· Teaching experience related to sustainability data perspectives, environment and society, infrastructure for sustainable development or environmental policy and governance.
