We are seeking a highly skilled and creative professional to join our team as a Bakery Research and Development Chef / Quality Manager. In this dual role, you will be responsible for driving innovation in our bakery products through research and development while ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.
Responsibilities:
Research and Development:
- Lead the development of new bakery products, including breads, pastries, cakes, and other confections.
- Conduct market research to identify current trends and consumer preferences.
- Create and test new recipes, ensuring they meet quality, taste, and standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products from concept to market.
Quality Management:
- Establish and enforce quality control procedures for all bakery products.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and implement quality assurance protocols to minimize defects and maintain consistency in product quality.
- Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues, working closely with production teams.
Recipe Standardization:
- Standardize recipes for consistent product quality across all locations.
- Work with production teams to train staff on recipe execution and quality control measures.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of relevant food safety and quality regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food production and labeling.
Cost Management:
- Work collaboratively with the procurement team to identify cost-effective ingredients without compromising quality.
- Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Qualification:
- O level and above or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in bakery research and development, with a proven track record of successful product launches.
- Previous experience in a quality management role within the bakery industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of baking techniques and ingredient functionality.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and quality assurance protocols.
