Operate PRTC assembly equipment per the detailed procedures. Perform quality inspections, line clearances and record per procedure and advise Quality and Rubber Parts leadership of issues. This position supports other operations in Rubber parts as the need arises by Leadership.Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

The duties are to include, but not limited to:

• Light manual assembly, 100% inspection to packaging requirements and machine operation.

• Must be familiar with specifications outlined in the process procedures, Quality Control Specifications, Drawings and GMP Manuals. 

• Perform and record quality checks and line clearances as required per documentation.

• Will be required to wear appropriate apparel for entry into the clean room environment. Must comply with protective clothing policy and all safety policies.

• The operation includes issuing goods to production orders, bagging, packaging, labeling and and staging components for each operation per documented procedure.

• May be required to operate material handling equipment. Operations may include starting and stopping machine, selecting the material combination program as required, performing line clearances, fill hoppers, bagging, and packaging/ labeling per documented procedures

• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Essential Functions

• Generate Quality Notifications, initiate investigations and provide approval of investigations.

• Perform statistical sampling of production and conducts testing required assuring product safety and compliance to specifications, GMP's and ISO requirements.

• Train and audit manufacturing personnel to ensure proper documentation and inspection techniques are followed.  

• Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.  

• Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Generate Quality Notifications. Initiate investigations and approve the process investigations.

• Establish product containment regarding non-conforming material.

• Apply and interpret ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 and other sampling plans.

• Monitor re-inspection and perform statistical sampling.

• Perform statistical sampling of material as requested.

• Able to work accurately with limited supervision. 

• Has a concern for timeliness. 

• Accepts responsibilities and can communicate effectively with all levels of management and production staff.

• Report out of control conditions and assist in analysis of those for operations.

• Investigate specific problem areas in manufacturing and report findings or corrective actions as required.

• Conduct routine flash audits as directed.

• Review inspection techniques and documentation of results performed by manufacturing personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine final inspection testing for product release utilizing required instrumentation.

• Timely testing of product in order to support manufacturing and product release.

• Testing and paperwork is completed accurately.

• Performs daily chart review and approval on production in-process forms and review of final inspection forms.

• Compiles data and prepares testing reports as required.

• Operates final inspection equipment that includes; pull force tester, leak tester, OAL gauge, direct weight scale, 10X microscope, and particulate sampling.

• Responsible for ensuring good housekeeping practices in the area.

• Disposes of waste in compliance with safety and environmental procedures.

• Participates in product analysis activities for audit reports, capability studies, Experimental Work Orders and Validations.

• Able to work accurately with limited supervision.

• Accepts responsibilities and can communicate effectively with supervision, co-workers, and production.

• Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED

• Associates currently in role and trained preferred

• Two years' experience in an automated manufacturing environment (preferably medical device manufacturing).

Responsibilities:

• Performs routine final inspection testing for product release utilizing required instrumentation.

• Timely testing of product in order to support manufacturing and product release.

• Testing and paperwork is completed accurately.

• Performs daily chart review and approval on production in-process forms and review of final inspection forms.

• Compiles data and prepares testing reports as required.

• Operates final inspection equipment that includes; pull force tester, leak tester, OAL gauge, direct weight scale, 10X microscope, and particulate sampling.

• Responsible for ensuring good housekeeping practices in the area.

• Disposes of waste in compliance with safety and environmental procedures.

• Participates in product analysis activities for audit reports, capability studies, Experimental Work Orders and Validations.

• Able to work accurately with limited supervision.

• Accepts responsibilities and can communicate effectively with supervision, co-workers, and production.

• Utilize Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to query, move, validate, and issue material to production orders and machines from rack/storage locations and back to respective locations including accurate consumption of materials.

• Move raw material to staging areas by forklift, electric pallet jack, or pallet jack.

• Present shift reporting and Shift Start Up information to operators, technicians and supervisors.

• Verify process steps are completed correctly in batch records.

• Trains associates and answers procedural questions to internal and/or external stakeholders, as needed.

• Works around potentially hazardous materials/chemicals used to clean areas.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Provide organizational leadership for associate, health and wellness. Coordinate day-to-day implementation of industrial health, ergonomic and wellness programs, such as Blood Borne Pathogen, Safety Committee Meetings, and Safety Audits.

• Ensure compliance with FMLA and ADA regulations.

• Ensure an effective occupational safety and health programs are maintained with external support from health care providers, insurers, community health and regulatory agencies. Maintains OSHA 300 Log, Incident Rate reporting, Safety Index and incident tracking databases.  Gather and compute necessary related metrics for various time periods and as needed for plant, region and corporate worldwide metrics weekly/monthly reporting information

• Manage the Respiratory clearance program and oversee respiratory FIT tests.

• Administer site’s Workers Compensation program.

• Administer site Physical Capacity Profile program.

• Provide case management for occupational injuries, and integrated disability management as the liaison between associates, department managers, health care providers, and insurers to minimize worker’s compensation/disability costs and lost-work time.

• Minimize absenteeism and health care costs by on-site provision of professional care for minor illnesses and injuries. 

• Determine appropriateness of any restricted duty requests. Provides guidance on ergonomic issues related to workplace and workstations.

• Ensure employment-related medical screenings and procedures are effective and compliant.

• Provide elevated care per standing orders and medical surveillance protocols.

• Handle Personally-identifiable Health Information (PHI) in communicating with medical providers.

• Lead site-wide pandemic response

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Monitor team members to ensure compliance to manufacturing documents. Assists with changes to Standard Work Instructions.

2. Directs daily work for the work team.

3. Direct training for associates in their assigned area(s).

4. Responsible for all process documentation accuracy, completion, and handoff.

5. Report attendance, scheduling, and direct the resource allocation.

6. The Process Technician-Lead will interact with other Production Leads and associates on the respective/adjoining shifts to share best practices, create standardization, and ensure a smooth transition between shifts.  Production Leads are required to work a schedule that allows for this to occur seamlessly.

7. Respond when an issue is identified, lead the root cause and corrective action investigation as needed, and escalate as required.

8. Coordinate and implement the upgrading and standardization of assigned equipment.

9. Coordinate repair and preventative maintenance activities with production.

10. Instruct Cutting Associates concerning proper procedures and/or methodologies.

11. Assure that all machines are configured according to specifications.

12. Enable the development and training of associates by responding to requests and department needs.

13. Proactively work to anticipate problems before they impact production.

14. Provide input to performance appraisals and performance improvement/corrective action plans.

15. Champion process improvements, and ensure that changes associated with Continuous Improvement (CI) activities are implemented consistently in their area.

16. Will learn to operate and qualify on cutting machine operation and in-process checks to ensure operational impacts are minimal for absences and break coverages if necessary

Deliverables:

Essential job function is to monitor, operate, and maintain two (2) glass syringe forming machines in line with other  equipment (printer, module or various automated barrel transfer systems), inspection equipment, and ovens. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety  regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read, write  and converse in English or Spanish. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.
