Our location in Louisville, KY currently has an opportunity for an Acute Care Sales Representative in our Therapeutic Nutrition division.

The primary role of this position is to execute strategies to drive sales and expand product market share of Ensure®, Glucerna®, Juven® and specialty products brands.  Responsible for targeted Hospital accounts also including select Outpatient clinics such as Oncology, Wound and Bariatric accounts. Key stakeholders such as: Nutrition Services, Nursing, Quality, Materials Management, Physicians, and nutrition-related task forces and committees. Responsible for providing current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Abbott products, and effectively communicating the clinical and economic benefits.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Full ownership of acute care accounts, wound clinics, and podiatry offices
• Executing strategic sales initiatives designed to exceed established sales goals.
• Work closely with District Manager and cross-functional / interdisciplinary teams to execute the strategic account plan
• Prioritizing the utilization of resources to drive return on investment
• Utilizing Abbott Nutrition promotional materials and clinical studies to effectively communicate the clinical and scientific benefits of Abbott Nutrition products to targeted healthcare professionals
• Plan and organize to maximize focus on top priorities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

• Bachelor's Degree
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong organizational skills

The Opportunity

Due to upcoming internal promotions, we are proactively recruiting to back fill these roles and will be hiring Point of Care Solutions Specialists across the US in our Abbott Point of Care (APOC) Division selling to hospitals. The Point of Care Solution Specialist works independently within an assigned territory leading commercial execution to increase market share and drive sustainable growth.  Working in a collaborative environment, the Sales Specialist will partner with internal support team members to identify opportunities and create strategies that move sales cycles forward.  The position reports to the District Manager and requires up to 50% travel to provide customer-focused service and effectively support business goals. 

What you will work on

• Achieve sales targets through efficient and effective sales cycle and territory management.
• Maintain sales base while closing new business in both new and existing accounts.
• Efficiently navigate complex sales environments with multiple stakeholders and dynamic decision-making criteria, while also building relationships.
• Develop and execute sales strategies, while anticipating potential risks and proactively developing and implementing mitigation plans.
• Utilize available resources effectively.
• Ensure that all administrative tasks (i.e., training modules, expense reports, sales forecasts, etc.) are completed promptly and accurately.
• Travel within assigned territory is up to 50% and will provide customer-focused service and effectively support business goals. some regional, overnight travel is required.
• Understands and complies with all applicable EHS policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 4+ years of diagnostics, point of care (POC), lab, or capital equipment sales experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50% in assigned territory and other business locations in the USA.

Preferred Qualifications

• Documented history of being a consistent sales overachiever (i.e., President’s Club winner).
• Consistently ranks among the top 20% in peer sales group.
• Has established contacts at IDN's and Hospital Systems within assigned territory.
• Possesses strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills.
• Highly proficient at using the Salesforce.com, or similar, CRM platform.
• Attended multiple sales training courses (e.g., Challenger, Miller Heiman, etc.), and is an active user of one or multiple effective sales methodologies.

The Opportunity

Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of Structural Heart disease.  We aim to lead the markets we serve by requiring the solutions we offer customers provide an improved benefit/risk profile as compared to existing standards of care; a performance threshold that by definition, guides and ensures the productive output of our engineering, business development, and clinical research efforts result in outcomes that advance the standard of care.

The Clinical Specialist provides clinical and sales support through education of current and potential customers, and procedure coverage with a defined region.  In this role, the Clinical Specialist with train interventional cardiologists, catheter lab staff and ancillary personnel on the use of Structural Heart products and provide technical support to physicians during procedures.  The role is responsible for communicating product, clinical and market data to appropriate personnel and will support the company’s efforts to develop and implement product marketing strategies.

This position may be hired at different level, depending on the experience of the candidate.  This position may travel in excess of 50% and will cover the following areas: Lexington, KY, Knoxville, TN and Chattanooga, TN.

What You’ll Work On

• Collaborate with Territory Managers to provide good case coverage and clinical outcomes for patients.

• Serve as primary resource for clinical support in the areas of surgical coverage, troubleshooting and in-service education for company products.

• Educate customer on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products.  Inform customers of the latest product, therapy and technology developments in the industry. 

• Actively engage in clinical, procedural and technical discussions and link data outcome to key messaging.

• Meet with existing and potential clients (health care providers) to identify their clinical needs, goals and constraints related to patient care and provide creative and feasible solutions.

• This role requires a strong clinical orientation with the ability to influence a variety of clinician personality types.

Required Qualifications

• BS/BA or equivalent experience. 
• 9+ years of related cardiovascular work experience; 3+ years’ of which is Structural Heart or Heart Failure implantable device specific clinical experience.

• Strong consideration will be given to candidates with EP (Electrophysiology) and SH (Structural Heart) sales experience.

The Opportunity

We aim to restore health and improve quality of life through device solutions to treat Congenital and  Structural Heart disease.  We lead markets by providing solutions with improved risk/benefit profiles compared to existing best therapies.

The Congenital Clinical Sales Specialist will support and promote Abbott percutaneous treatment options for atrial septal defects (ASD), patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), and ventricular septal defects (VSD).

The Clinical Sales Specialist provides clinical and sales support through procedure coverage, education, and aiding the region in meeting its performance goals. In this role, the Clinical Sales Specialist will train physicians and staff on the use of products and the importance of our therapies.  The CSS will also communicate product, clinical, and market data to appropriate Abbott personnel to support the company’s efforts to develop products and implement product marketing strategies.

What You’ll Work On

• Coordinate with the Territory Manager, Region Director, and customers to provide procedure coverage, ensuring the best clinical outcomes.
• Play an active role in aiding the region to meet its performance goals.
• Serve as the primary resource in the cath lab for procedure preparation, troubleshooting, proctoring, and education.
• Active participation at industry conferences and Abbott functions.
• This role requires a strong clinical orientation with the ability to influence a variety of clinician specialties and personality types.

Required travel may be greater than 50% of the time.

Required Qualifications  

• BS/BA or equivalent experience. 
• 6+ years of related cardiovascular work experience.
