• Serve as the focal point for the capture, analysis, and management of functional and non-functional systems requirements, and user stories.

• Experience with functional decomposition of large business needs into multiple layers of requirements/user stories.

Responsible for pre-award activities such as negotiating NDAs, soliciting subcontractor/supplier proposals and negotiating subcontractor/supplier rates and terms. More About the Role

The Business Analyst will analyze customer requirements and existing software systems to identify new / changing needs. The analyst will use their experience in microbiology and public health to develop functional and technical software specifications and to serve as a liaison between stakeholders, subject matter experts and the development team. The Business Analyst will work with product owners to prioritize requirements and build Release and Sprint backlogs.

• Apply microbiology / clinical / lab background(s) and communications skills to elicit needs for systems tracking / monitoring pathogens and antimicrobial resistant organisms in the healthcare environment.  Efforts could extend to support other information systems or informatics initiatives within the branch.
• Validate requirements for accuracy, completeness, clarity, testability, and traceability.
• Translate requirements into functional and technical specifications that reflect stakeholder needs.
• Document requirements and specifications, including complex data flows and business rules using appropriate tools.

About the Role:

The Business Analyst will:

·       Have experience working on public health data surveillance / data collection systems with standardized (HL7 2.x, FHIR, etc.) electronic data exchange capabilities.
