We are looking to recruit an experienced Compliance Auditor to join our busy and evolving Audit Department to provide an effective & efficient Audit Compliance service to the business, specifically in relation to Stock and Cash Loss, Fraud Detection, People Protection and Premises Protection.
Reporting to the Audit Manager this is a highly visible role within the Company with key responsibilities including carrying out internal audits to identify any issues or areas of weaknesses that pose a risk to the business, conducting thorough investigations where necessary, implementing best practice processes to protect the Company and providing feedback and insight into patterns and analytics through detailed reporting. You will need to demonstrate highly effective communication skills to be able to influence others at all levels within the business.
This role will involve travel around our branch network to conduct site visits and attend meetings at our Head Office in Eastbourne when required.

Key objectives of this role include:
Designing and holding compliance-based workshops, reviewing compliance risks and training new colleagues.
Provide supportive feedback and coaching throughout the year to help management achieve audit performance objectives
Build effective working relationships within the team, Regions, Head Office Departments and Supply Chain and manage stakeholders to drive compliance and risk resilience culture.
Continuously improve business continuity plan to ensure well-organized recovery during and after a crisis.
Identify, and investigate issues of internal fraud/theft/abuse, review procedures to put measures in place to prevent/reduce repeat occurrences.
Communicate investigation outcomes and recommendations to all levels of the business, whilst actively seeking feedback and seizing opportunities to learn and develop
Coordinate with Government agencies for further support based on investigation findings and attending court or tribunals as and when required.
Monitor analyse react and submit loss incident reports in compliance with company and insurance requirements, supporting any related investigations.
Specifying and monitoring the effectiveness of physical security equipment, including Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Safes, advise and consult with Audit Manager to agree the best cost-effective solutions.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with external partners, regulatory agencies, industry security, and suppliers.
Challenge current policies and procedures and implement recommendations to protect the business
Who we are looking for to join the team:
Previous experience in a Compliance Auditor or similar role is advantageous
Proficient with physical security design, development, and implementation
Has strong interpersonal with the ability to influence and obtain commitment from others to build consistently productive relationships across other functions & departments
Works methodically through tasks and on own initiative and takes responsibility for own actions
Encourages others to use initiative to resolve issues and improve efficiency
Possess analytical, statistical and numeracy skills with attention to detail and acute observation and listening skills
Manages pressure effectively to meet deadlines and cope with setbacks, seeking support if necessary
Can identify and suggest any means of improving efficiency or service
Makes timely, clear decisions about complex matters which may involve difficult choices and considered risks
Has strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to retain focus whilst demonstrating high levels of drive
Be a confident driver with a full driving licence
