The DCQM provides executive leadership and direct supervision over the following areas: Accreditation, Risk Management, External Peer Review, and Patient Safety. Works towards achievement of high quality, safety, and cost effective evidence based outcomes on a continual journey of a high reliability organization. Collaborates with both administrative and clinical services to monitor quality and safety within the service and medical center. Ensures processes are in place for continued accreditation readiness and participates in rounds to survey clinical departments. Functions as facilitator in implementing action plans and process improvement strategies at services and medical center for follow up to include regular progress reports. Reviews quality data for trends and early intervention. Applies clinical performance improvement methods, collects outcome data related to policy, procedure, and regulatory compliance and in collaboration with management, initiates performance improvement monitoring projects. Utilizes data and comparative analytical processes in recommending design and implementation of innovative programs to improve service excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance to patient care and regulatory standards. Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provides executive input in the strategic planning, budget, mission, operational planning, and policy development for local and network efforts.
- Utilizes current trends and relevant theories in an analytical framework to design/modify, implement, and measure integrated programs and activities to achieve clinical and administrative goals of the medical center and/or network. Evaluates outcomes against strategic priorities.
- Demonstrates substantial and continuous responsibility for directing and managing an integrated program.
- Consultant to medical center staff and greater community in areas of expertise.
- Demonstrates expert practice that goes beyond the unit to encompass a program, an entire service, or across service lines and improves clinical outcomes.
- Develops and implements strategies to address care quality problems for patients.
- Develops/reviews Nursing Service/Medical Center Policies, procedures and standards as appropriate.
- Demonstrates grade-appropriate, consistent critical thinking skills.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm NOTE: Shifts may vary depending on patient care needs.
