The Operational Control Centre is here to manage disruption and serious incidents across the whole transport network, from managing traffic signals to managing significant issues on bus and tram and everything in-between. The team are responsible for overseeing activity of the entire Greater Manchester transport network 24/7. It’s a fast paced, exciting environment to work in with no 2 shifts being the same.

Your Role

As a Control Centre Support Officer, you will play a key role in keeping the Greater Manchester Road network running smoothly. You will spot and resolve problems, and coordinate with the new Bee Network bus services and act as a liaison for TfGM. You will enjoy a dynamic and varied work environment, where you will handle multiple serious incidents simultaneously.

You will work to tight deadlines and targets to support the Operational Control Centre in delivering swift and efficient incident management, with a particular focus on enhancing customer journeys and supporting TfGM’s response along with transport partners. You will be responsible for monitoring the multi modal transport network utilising a suite of advanced computer systems, including journey planning and CCTV, to identify any issues and provide timely interventions to keep traffic and transport moving.

You be required to work on a shift rota basis along with colleagues providing 24 hours coverage 7 days a week. We operate a 10-week rota where the shifts vary but cover an equal split of early, late and night shifts. You’ll also get around 50% of weekends as planned rest days. There is a 20% shift allowance on top of the base salary for shift work. You will be provided with support through an extensive coaching and development framework, in conjunction with your assigned coach for up to 3 months.

The Operational Control Centre is expanding and using cutting-edge technology to oversee the entire Greater Manchester transport network, and you can be part of the change!

Upon joining the team, you will be provided with support through an extensive coaching and development framework, in conjunction with your assigned coach for your first 4 to 6 weeks in the role. The framework will coach and guide you through a series of modules which encompass the modal knowledge required to become competent in the role.

What you’ll bring

You'll have experience of stakeholder liaison and be able to clearly triage and prioritise information using your existing decision-making skills to enable you to quickly respond to incidents across the transport network and provide information to various audiences. A knowledge and understanding of GDPR and Data Protection is essential as well as experience of working with safety related policies and procedures. You'll have excellent computer skills and significant experience in using Microsoft applications and you'll have great customer service skills. Having a SIA CCTV Operator License is desired or a willingness to engage in SIA Approved CCTV training during employment. You will be educated to GCSE level or equivalent or have equivalent levels of experience.

We have two permanent positions available and three fixed term positions for a period of 24 months with a salary of £27,841 - £31,915 per annum, plus 20% shift allowance. This equates to a starting salary of £33,409. You will work as part of a high performing, highly skilled and very welcoming team. This role would be perfect for someone with experience in an inspector role previously as well as Mechanical skill set. This is a long term contract for around 12 months, potential of extension.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure
• Examining for correct assembly
• Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc.
• Inspect for physical damage
• Intermediate inspection checks non product certification
• Monitor product certification operators

Candidate Requirements:

• Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21or HNC

Who are we?

We are seeking individuals to join our Projects Group Function, where you will be part of a dynamic team controlling the development, delivery and programme management of a range of exciting projects across the whole of Greater Manchester, including over £1 billion of investment in Rail, Bus, Active Travel, Metrolink and Highways infrastructure.

At TfGM Project Controls is based upon the Association for Project Management framework to support project delivery by providing solutions to four fundamental questions:

What you’ll bring

You will have significant experience of working in a Project Controls environment with prior experience of complex highways, large civils infrastructure or specifically rail projects being of advantage.

You will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of planning techniques, cost and change control, baseline management principles and be proficient in the use of Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Excel and SAP.

You should also be able to analyse contract programmes and understand the principles of NEC contract management in relation to programme. Good communication skills, self-motivation and a proactive approach to working are essential. You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent levels of experience.

This is a permanent position with a salary of £67,015 - £74,092 per annum. This is comprised of a base salary £56,361 - £63,438, plus market supplement of £10,654 per annum. The market supplement is paid monthly and reviewed annually. Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.

Compliance Solicitor
£40,000 - £55,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)

We're looking for a compliance solicitor to join us at Co-op Legal Services (CLS).

In this role, we'll look to you to be our technical specialist in regulatory compliance, providing compliance oversight and strategic support to the business for all legal and regulatory requirements. You'll work collaboratively with the compliance manager on providing expertise relating to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) code of conduct, operational governance, regulatory compliance framework, data protection, anti-money laundering, complaint handling, professional indemnity insurance and negligence claims. As a fast-growing business, you'll also support us in providing due diligence and governance of contractual relationships with our business partners. What you'll do:

* draft and review CLS policies and procedures - working with other business areas to drive efficiencies whilst meeting regulatory obligations
* assist operations with client onboarding including conflict checking, client due diligence and AML queries
* support the data protection lead and deputise when necessary to managing DSARs, deletion requests, and undertaking data breach investigations
* sample file reviews/audits
* be responsible for Practicing Certificate and PII policy renewals
* investigate regulatory breach notifications, preparing reports for COLP/SRA as required
* monitor the relationships with new and existing business partners, performing due diligence and governance of contracts
* provide support and manage issues escalated from CLS colleagues and Heads of Practice

This role would suit people who have:

* qualified as a solicitor
* significant experience of SRA regulation
* a background in legal operations, working in an SRA regulated environment
* experience of dealing with complaints and professional negligence claims
* good knowledge of data protection legislation and processes
* understanding of money laundering regulations
* excellent relationship building and communication skills
