The role
As a Senior Nuclear Assurance Inspector, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Head of Nuclear Assurance, you will monitor all nuclear assurance activities across the Submarine Dismantling Programme.

• Provide independent oversight across nuclear activities, promoting attitudes and behaviours that encourage constructive challenge.
• Lead specific nuclear related interventions ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Review and align our nuclear processes with industry best practice and any change with external regulatory legislation.
• You'll lead on independent assessments and investigations across nuclear projects, indicating where external independent review is required, or enforcement action is required as directed by the Head of Nuclear Assurance or Nuclear Operations Director.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week from Monday to Thursday and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office at our Rosyth Dockyard, Rosyth, Fife site and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior Nuclear Assurance Inspector

• Recent experience in the nuclear and environmental regulatory field.
• Experience of implementing, advising, or regulating Health & Safety arrangements
• You will have worked within a nuclear licensed site and overseen operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Previously managed internal process inspection programmes within external auditor expectations.

Qualifications for the Senior Nuclear Assurance Inspector

• A Science or Nuclear Engineering degree would be preferable however, a HNC and relevant industry experience would be considered.

To post-holder will be responsible for the day to day management of various service contracts. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will carry out Carry out In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment (PAT) in accordance with the current edition of the IET Code of Practice.

The position is part time, from 6.00pm to 10.00pm in the evenings, Monday to Sunday, working in a 2-2-3 shift pattern.

The Quality Controller is responsible for auditing, monitoring and providing technical support to the relevant stakeholders, promoting quality, food safety culture and standards within the business. As QC, you will be responsible for monitoring that all staff are producing products to the relevant specifications and customer requirements. You will support by ensuring company procedures for food safety, legality, quality and authenticity are followed at all times.

Main Duties

• Auditing of food safety and quality checks and paperwork being completed by production including, but not limited to, label checks, metal detector checks, weight checks, machine start up checks, temperature and traceability records.
• Supporting production operatives and team leaders to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
• Identification of non-conforming product and processes and ensuring that Quality Technician and/or Shift Quality Lead are informed as soon as possible.
• Sampling and swabbing for micro and organoleptic testing.
• Providing support and advice to the factory team ahead of a customer visit or external audit.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety & Hygiene Standards, following up that necessary corrective actions are taken in a timely manner and verified for continual compliance.

- Performing any other ADHOC duties (with proper training)

• Perform Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) as required

To be successful in this role you will have a HNC or equivalent in an engineering/quality related discipline. Combined with an excellent understanding and awareness of Quality Management Systems (ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001, ISO45001).

Other key skills, traits and experience include:

• Ability to conduct audits on Business systems and processes to meet ISO standards
• Ability to prepare, analyse and report quality statistics to all levels both internal and external
• A NEBOSH qualification (advantageous)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• An understanding of quality improvement programmes and IPC electronic assembly knowledge (advantageous)
• An understanding of electronics or proven electronics experience
• Good computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

The role

Day to day, you'll be:

• Designing, Planning, Preparing and Writing PLC and HMI software for control systems with I/O in the region of 500-1500 I/O points. • Control system software design experience in either a project engineering or design engineering role
• Ability to work to deadlines whilst being reactive to customer/client requests for change
• Design engineering experience in the layout of I/O systems in E&I control panels
• Proven track record in PLC & HMI programming
• Familiar with Siemens/Allen Bradley/Emerson PAC8000 (or equivalents) PLC hardware and software packages
• Knowledge of remote monitoring system protocol and development
• Experience in witnessing and managing the FAT and/or site commissioning of control system software
• Preferably process industry control experience but would consider from other industries such as water, wastewater, power, pharmaceutical and drinks or food industry

Qualifications for the Control Systems Engineer

• Degree qualified in Control/Software/Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Significant track of relevant experience
• Strong competency to be demonstrated in development of HMI and PLC software, preferably with experience using PAC Machine edition.
