Ensure you are up to date with all relevant national and local guidance, policy and procedures relating to data quality and patient data management. Develop and sustain an in depth knowledge of the use of iPM, the Trusts PAS, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of functionality and use. Identify data quality issues on the Trusts patient-based systems. Validate patients journeys ensuring the data quality is exceptional and accurate. Use the NHS Care Record Service to find and verify NHS numbers, addresses, postcodes, GPs etc. for all active patients and update IPM. Create, develop and maintain data quality reports and robust processes in order to check and correct patient data and ensure the accuracy of that data and to monitor any problem areas. Collaborate with services to establish the root cause of the data quality issues and with the Data Quality & Assurance Manager and operational staff to develop and implement solutions. This will involve direct support as well as utilising other expertise in the team and beyond. What is the job role?

As a Principal Building Control Officer, you will oversee the delivery of the building control service and ensure the quality and performance of the team.

You will represent the service at senior management meetings, strategic partnerships, and external forums. You will also lead on the development and review of building control policies and procedures and provide expert advice and support to the council and other departments on building control matters.

You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Building Control Officers and Technical Support Officers, ensuring that they provide a customer focused and efficient service to a range of clients.

You will be involved in complex and high-profile projects, liaising with developers, architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure that building work meets the required standards and safety measures.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of the Building Control service, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.

You will be acting as the principal technical advisor and expert on building control matters and be responsible for technical and legal compliance with the Building Acts, Building Regulations and Safety at Sports Grounds legislation.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in building control or a related field and be a full member of a recognised professional body such as RICS, CABE, CIOB or ABE.

In addition, you must already be validated to or working towards validation as a Building Safety Regulator Class 3 Specialist Building Inspector.

You must have substantial experience working in building control, including dealing with complex and high-risk projects and supervising and mentoring staff.

You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure and prioritise your workload. You will also need to have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, as you will be required to travel to various sites across the city.

The role:
Working as part of a wider team of QA Auditors and reporting directly in to our Quality Assurance Supervisors, you will play a key role in ensuring that our Wigan site continues to meet all quality and technical standards set nationally and by our grocery retailer partners.

As one of our QA Auditors, you will audit, monitor, improve and evaluate quality systems and procedures and provide technical support for the operational teams as well as maintaining and promoting technical and quality standards in line with business needs and customer requirements will be a key focus.

In this position you will work on a permanent day shift which will include some weekend working as set by the rota.

Day to day duties will be:


- To audit compliance against Quality Management Systems, GMP and HACCP controls, raising all non-conformances against relevant standards with objective evidence.
- Effectively communicating to enable the operational teams to take the appropriate and necessary corrective action – then following up and monitoring completion of actions.
- Suggesting areas of improvement, relating to fabrication and procedures.
- Understanding the site traceability system to complete audits to demonstrate compliance and retrieve information for investigation purposes.
- To take samples (micro, nutritional, swab and organoleptic) against specific schedules and communicate the progress in a timely manner.
- Prepare and facilitate taste panels in accordance with procedure
- ensuring that all results are accurately recorded and communicated to site.
- Calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with schedules and procedures.
- To assist the QA Supervisor in carrying out full investigations on specifications (micro and nutritional), complaints and incidents. Investigations may take the form of sampling, process reviews, traceability, or audits.
- To support NPD trials and product launches, assisting in micro testing and product life assessment to ensure products are manufactured to the correct standard as necessary.
- Providing technical support and advice to the factory team in the event of customer visit or audit.
- Coordination of day to day activities to deliver improvement of Technical KPIs
- To operate in a safe working manner and support the site/business on continuous improvement relating to health, safety, and the environment


About You:
Ideally you will have some professional experience within a similar Technical/QA role in a food environment but skills can be taught and if you have the enthusiasm and drive to develop within quality assurance this is an excellent first role.

Understanding the chain of custody within the food environment and a background of working on small to mid-sized quality improvement projects, such as implementing new procedures and defining new supporting documentation
- will be key.
You will be an excellent communicator who can work alone with a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving.
