The role
As a Project Control Lead - Cost, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be supporting the Missions Systems Business in supporting the delivery of vital military capability.
Day-to-day, you'll play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of programme delivery through to completion.
- Establish, implement and maintain best practice cost control systems across the programme.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the project baseline budgets
- Oversee control of commitments and accruals with the Project Manager
- Provide key input into the production and management of control account plans, including establishing basis of estimates and cost related assumptions and dependencies.
- Collate, organise and present the necessary data to enable Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting.
- Coordinate and develop project work-in-progress (WIP), commitment and estimate at complete (EAC) forecasts
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Project Control Lead - Cost
- Considerable experience in the advanced application of Project Management techniques in a relevant technical project environment across the full project lifecycle
- Advanced knowledge of cost management and earned value techniques
- Previous experience on complex defence projects (desirable, but not essential)
- Ability to champion high performance and inspire others
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of contract and commercial management
- Experience working with senior level managers both internally and externally
Qualifications for the Project Control Lead - Cost
- APM PMQ or equivalent (advantageous)
- PPC Practitioner (advantageous)
- UK Driving Licence
