As a Government Information Specialist (Compliance), GS-0306-12, your typical work assignments may include:

• Support PRIV's efforts to ensure that sound privacy and information sharing safeguards and policies are in place across the department to ensure that privacy compliance issues are addressed.
• Evaluate various reports, correspondence, and other agency materials to identify Privacy impact and risks.
• Support PRIVs efforts to ensure that sound privacy safeguards and policies are in place across the Department and make certain that privacy compliance issues are addressed throughout the Department in order to limit unauthorized access to personally identifiable information.

The Associate Deputy Under Secretary for Health for Quality and Patient Safety (Associate DUSH for QPS) is a direct report to the Deputy Under Secretary for Health (DUSH) and supports the overall work of the Office of the Under Secretary for Health (USH). The Associate DUSH for QPS provides national leadership in the formulation and establishment of effective health care policies, programs, and initiatives that fulfill the VHA's mission to provide personalized, pro-active, high quality, safe, reliable care for Veterans. The Associate DUSH for QPS is responsible for leading VHA on its journey toward becoming a high reliability organization and has oversight of VHA's performance measurement, quality and process improvement, safety, clinical risk management, systems redesign, accreditation, and data analytics and reporting programs. The office manages approximately 400 clinical and administrative professionals in the day-to-day operations of these key programmatic elements. The Associate DUSH for QPS serves in a direct consultative capacity to the Under Secretary for Health, serving as a national subject matter expert in the quality improvement and patient safety QPS directorate. The Associate DUSH for QPS works collaboratively with other Assistant Under Secretaries leading the strategic direction of the Veterans Health Administration.

As a Human Resources Specialist (Classification & Recruitment), you will:

• Serve as a technical expert providing the full range of support to managers and supervisors in the following: Classification and position management-related duties to include resolving difficult and complex position management and position classification issues involving a variety of professional, administrative, technical, law enforcement, and clerical positions.
• Serve as a technical expert on classification matters. Provide extensive assistance, advice and guidance to supervisors and managers to clarify and define duties and responsibilities of positions, interrelationships with other positions, and career patterns, determine the types of positions required and the most appropriate organizational structure, recommending options or alternative courses of action for attaining human resource management goals. Interpret, analyze, and prepare responses to new or proposed changes to complex legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance affecting classification.
• Serve as a technical expert in providing the full range of support to managers and supervisors in performing the following: complex position analysis to determine position requirements and area of consideration, utilize the most efficient techniques to fill vacancies and meet the goals of the Directorates/Offices served.
• Provide management with a wide range of flexible and innovative strategies in carrying out the full range of Delegated Examining Unit (DEU) for assigned areas. In this capacity, develop job analysis, crediting plans, vacancy announcements, position descriptions, assessment questionnaires, and other rating guides, reviews employment applications for minimum qualification requirements, adjudicates veterans' preference, and prepares Certificates of Eligibles and reviews contractor's work, as appropriate.

As an unpaid summer 2025 intern, you will be asked to assist other attorneys in the office with legal research and writing; reviewing policies, regulations, statutes, and contracts; assisting with litigation matters; reviewing audit or investigative reports; reviewing subpoenas; assisting with other legal assignments as necessary. • Responsible for packaging draft and final audit reports and analyzing the reports to ensure that these audit reports do not contain personally identifiable information (PII).
• Responsible for using Adobe Acrobat software to redact PII from audit reports. Responsible for distributing draft and final reports issued from OAS Headquarters to HHS OPDIVs and keeping OAS Headquarters and Regional management apprised of the status of the report distribution.
• Responsible for ensuring that audit reports posted to the HHS-OIG Internet are Section 508 compliant and accessible to persons with disabilities.
• Responsible for analyzing the report for section 508 compliance and if necessary, remediating the audit report using the appropriate software tools.

As a Supervisory Sanctions Compliance Officer, you will:
- Identify technical and practical issues regarding the financial sector and OFAC compliance, prepare policy papers and recommendations for senior Treasury management, and clearly articulate the reasons for recommending particular courses of action.
- Write, develop, update, format, publish, and disseminate a wide array of OFAC sanctions publications and materials relating to the financial industry, in both hard and electronic copies.
