• Contribute to Council responses to government consultations and technical reviews in relation to building safety, building regulations, dangerous and temporary structures and land charges regulatory issues
• Provide support to the Building Safety Regulator under Section 13 of the Building Safety Act 2022 in the regulation of Higher-risk buildings and enforcement of the building regulations.
• Ensure full cost recovery for the Council in support of the Building Safety Regulator as set out in the Building Safety (Fees and Charges) Regulations (2023).
• Ensure that 'restricted activities' are only undertaken by the Building Control Authority upon the advice of a registered building inspector with the appropriate class registration for the building type.

In this role your main responsibilities include:
• Develop, implement, and manage the company's quality assurance strategies, policies, and processes to ensure top-tier product quality.
• Lead the inspection of fruits meet specifications for size, appearance, taste, and shelf life.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with national and international food safety regulations, including HACCP, SQF, and other relevant quality standards.
• Collaborate with production and packaging teams to identify quality issues and work proactively to resolve them.
• Oversee all aspects of quality control, including produce inspection, and documentation.
• Conduct regular audits of suppliers and distribution facilities to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
• Train and mentor staff on quality assurance protocols and best practices.
• Provide an enthusiastic and positive approach to quality and compliance for the business activities
• Implement, develop and maintain quality system policies
• Develop robust processes to ensure produce is delivered on-time, of the desired quality, and in a safe manner.
• Perform Internal Quality Audits and organise external audits for the business
• Co-ordinate with other departments regarding non-conformance & corrective action for the same
• Checking of produce for compliance with specifications
• Minimize the impact to the environment during distribution process
• Manage produce recalls and withdrawals and conduct traceability procedures during produce recall
• Make recommendations on improving quality best practices within the company

To be considered for this role you must have;
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality assurance management, preferably in the food industry.
• Proven experience in quality assurance, ideally within the fresh produce, agriculture, or food manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and other quality management systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address quality issues proactively.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
• Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards

As the Head of Vendor Risk & Assurance, you will play a key role in the global procurement team, helping to drive forward a range of initiatives and help to develop the function into a best-in-class procurement team. In this role you will be responsible for helping the business to identify and mitigate against a range of risks within their growing supply chain. This role will help to improve business performance in relation to their ESG, net-zero and exposure to reputational risk through their supplier base. You will have 2 direct reports who you will work closely with to ensure effective roll out of a range of strategies and projects.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of vendor risk and assurance strategies with a proven track record of improving business processes in relation to supplier governance and risk mitigation. You will need to have excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively engage in a global business and develop strategies to suit an international business. You should have experience working within a large global business previously and an understanding of how to enact change across such a business.
