As a Program Specialist you will:

• Provide primary operational support as a specialist in agency administrative policies and procedures
• Provide advice to support staff on general administrative functions such as routine and international travel, maintaining calendars, and documenting clearance procedures
• Develop strategies and methods to improve office operations within the Division and serve as liaison to administrative staff for extensive organizational requirements
• As a team member, serve in the conduct of programmatic studies to develop criteria and data for the evaluation of program objectives; and organizational studies to make recommendations on the most efficient way of processing internal work operations
• Assist with planning and implementing a project planning system to monitor a variety of office-supported activities in relation to resource requirements and the need for administrative support

A client within the private sector based in the North of England is currently recruiting for a Compliance Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a consultancy environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to develop, manage and monitor the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) performance of the company.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Monitor and advise on all QHSE matters, issues and concerns to ensure Company compliance with statutory requirements, Company and contractual requirements and good industry practice.
• Responsible for Company's QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its accreditations (ISO14001:2015, ISO9001:2015 & ISO45001:2018, SMAS, Planet Mark etc.)
• Responsible for management of and liaison with QHSE auditors to acquire/maintain Company's accreditations
• Conduct audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identifying and assisting implementing improvements
• Manage and monitor emergency procedures including regular office checks, signage, PPE, COSHH control etc.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will have achieved or working towards a Diploma in Qualification in Quality Management or business administration / business management.

The below skills would be essential for the role:

• a driving licence and have access to your own car
• 3 years or more proven professional experience within Quality Management
• Excellent and topical knowledge of Quality Management Systems
• Excellent understanding of ISO and accreditation processes
• Excellent business administrative experience and experience in financial management.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering up to £40,000 per annum plus various other benefits.

The Staff Support Specialist must be knowledgeable of agency wide programs, facility goals and objectives. Must be able to communicate clearly and tailor their message to the target audience. For the assigned Facility/Duty Location, performs daily functions of maintaining and or improving operational material and or resources within the assigned area(s) of specialty. Communicates intra / inter facility as well as among various lines of business and industry. Makes recommendations for new projects/studies, taking into account available resources and the accomplishment of facility goals and objectives. Applies expertise toward the completion of projects/studies and facility reports. Analyzes and evaluates the effectiveness of equipment, facilities, and procedures. Conducts investigations, evaluations, and briefs facility personnel. Develops methods to improve customer service and the quality of support provided. Collaborates freely among facilities, provides feedback and consults with other Staff Support Specialists regardless of duty location. May perform duties outside of the facility commensurate with grade and experience. Depending upon facility structure, reports to an assigned MSS-2, 3 or 4, who provides administrative direction for facility assignments, in terms of broadly defined missions or functions within areas of specialties. The incumbent is responsible for planning, designing and completing work assignments independently. Results of the work are technically authoritative and are normally accepted without change. Work is evaluated in terms of results achieved and effectiveness in assigned program areas.
