Job Purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Specialist with a minimum of 2 years experienced including prior work within the goverment sector, to join our dynamic team in the automotive servicing industry. The ideal candidate will ensure that all automotive repairs, maintenance, and services in various workshops meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the service processes, conduct and prepare for audits, inspections, investigating quality issues or customer feedbacks, and collaborating with the team to ensure that customer vehicles are serviced efficiently and to specification.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of service procedures and practices to ensure consistency, accuracy, and full compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate departmental processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work areas for adherence to quality assurance (QA) standards, making necessary adjustments as required.
- Assess contractor compliance with both organizational and regulatory quality standards through comprehensive inspections and audits.
- Prepare and analyze quality assessment reports to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and enhance service delivery.
- Identify operational faults and prioritize corrective actions based on the severity and criticality of the issues.
- Conduct internal Quality Management System (QMS) audits to ensure proper documentation and reporting of quality-related information.
- Ensure all departments adhere to the organization’s quality policies and standards.
- Verify that document management and record-keeping practices comply with quality procedures, facilitating both internal and external audits.
- Oversee the effective management, qualification, and validation of equipment and systems.
- Ensure regular maintenance and updating of quality-related project documentation.
- Escalate complex issues affecting work products or service quality to the appropriate team members for resolution.
- Drive continuous improvement in production quality through the implementation of Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) plans.
- Maintain and control master lists of all released Quality Management System (QMS) documents to ensure up-to-date documentation.
- Perform vendor quality assessments to advise on contract renewals, terminations, and new vendor selection.
- Plan and conduct regular internal inspections and audits in line with relevant procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive servicing, repair, or maintenance, with a focus on quality control or assurance. Prior experience within the government sector is preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive systems, repair processes, diagnostics, and industry best practices to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies related to work quality, technical specifications, and safety standards to maintain excellence in service.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to identify root causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with technicians, customers, and management.
- Personal Attributes: Capable of working independently while also being a collaborative team player. Demonstrates a proactive, “can-do” attitude with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
Qualifications / Certifications Required
- Diploma in any field
- Certification in quality management or auditing (ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor, Six Sigma)
