Within Islington's Housing Income Control Section we are looking to appoint a highly motivated Systems Improvement Officer to join our brand new Systems Improvement team.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a forward thinking Local Authority to ensure that a high quality, professional and efficient service is provided to its customers.
• To deliver comprehensive and efficient improvement and developments to systems within the Income service.
• Work within a team to deliver planned and ad-hoc projects for Income Services including digital transformation projects, property and rent account data management, integrity, cleansing and maintenance.
• New Build project management including assurance for property creation and stock control, calculation and application of new build rent and service charges and property element creation on the housing rents system. Liaising with digital/property services and new build team to successfully deliver new build schemes effectively, efficiently and on schedule to ensure a smooth transition from practical completion to letting.
• Procurement, management and monitoring of Income contracts and services.
• Annual rent change and statement projects.
• Review and creation of comprehensive and robust financial and operational procedures relating to work within the Income Service, including digital improvement projects. Responsible for updating procedures and training documentation.
• Assist with new software release testing and implementation for the Income Service.
You will have a qualification in Project managementorthe ability and interest to undertake a qualification in project management. Proven satisfactory IT skills and ability to learn new systems. The ability to use digital technology to deliver the service vision and improve service performance and outcomes for residents. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Working under the System Improvement Manager, you will join a friendly and hard working team which will be keen to making a positive impact on the Income Team by making improvements in every aspect of the day to day role.

Income Control Projects and Business Support

• To deal with complaints and enquiries and ensure they are managed within target timescales and due consideration is given to the quality of responses.
• To assist in the production of information in a clear and understandable format, including the use translation and interpreting services, as appropriate.
• To ensure that the services provided are accessible, accountable and responsive to the needs of the customer.
• To proactively manage demand, providing an excellent service while seeking to reduce unnecessary contact and promote channel shift.
General
• Ensure that all computer systems are constantly updated and reflect the accurate position of all transactions and balances to ensure accurate income control and recovery activity takes place.
• To use information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner.
• To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, seminars and other events designed to improve communication and assist with the effective development of the post and post holder.
• To perform any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post, including undertaking project work as determined by the Income Service Manager or Income Control managers.
