The SID is a fully integrated team that will bring together the strengths, capabilities, and knowledge of the partners and Network Rail. It will own the renewals work bank, manage it at portfolio level and drive a transition to a production management ethos. The SID is commercially aligned and jointly incentivised creating a 'share in success' environment. Business partners within the alliance will generate profit through performance against the Final Determination. The four partners, VolkerFitzpatrick, Octavius, Atkins, and VolkerRail are aligned to the core asset disciplines with the fifth partner, Network Rail Minor Works, being multi- disciplinary for low complexity, low value works.
An opportunity has arisen for a Site Buyer to join the Major Projects business working on the Southern Integrated Delivery project based in the South East of England. This position is site based and reports to the Procurement Manager
You will be responsible for:
- Deliver procurement required for the project as agreed within the project procurement Ecosystem strategy adhering fully to plant, material and subcontract procurement processes.
- Perform due diligence on companies (both existing and new to our supply chain) including areas such as their financials, health and safety, competency, workload and previous performance.
- Assist with the administration, storage and communication of the above information.
- Assist in ensuring that supply chain performance is recorded on the tenders and projects worked on, assisting with the resulting actions as directed.
- Contribute to the effective & sustainable management of the SID supply chain (Ecosystem), helping to manage relationships, ensuring performance ratings are carried out, helping to manage Supplier's / Subcontractor's performance as required.
About you
- Minimal Level 3 Diploma in Procurement & Supply
- General purchasing of goods/materials & Sub-Contract
- Rail Procurement knowledge
- Civils Procurement knowledge
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other office applications.
- Negotiation skills
- Full UK clean driving licence
- Excellent communication skills
