Berklee College of Music invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the Contemporary Writing and Production Department.

The Contemporary Writing and Production Department includes 35 faculty members who provide specialized instruction in composition, orchestration, arranging, and production techniques, focusing on contemporary music styles and music technology tools. The department serves over 560 students in the contemporary writing and production major, the writing for television and new media specialization, and the Mediterranean music minor, as well as serving all students at Berklee College of Music in the arranging core courses.

The ideal candidate is an experienced music producer and a dedicated teacher and educator who will actively contribute to the department and the Berklee community, fostering an inclusive learning space that supports all students regardless of their background and identity. This full-time position reports to the chair of Contemporary Writing and Production in the Professional Writing and Music Technology Division.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Teaching upper-level music production courses in the Contemporary Writing and Production major that incorporate advanced production techniques and current music technology tools in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production, mixing, and writer-producer collaborations in professional studio environments;

• Working one-on-one with senior CWP students as they prepare their writing and production graduation portfolio and transition to their professional careers in the music industry;

• Supervising recording sessions of student projects as part of the course requirements focusing on developing students’ leadership skills;

• Contribute to the department’s constant curriculum development to reflect the changes in the music industry.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Significant past and current professional experience as an active music producer in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production and remote collaboration in professional environments;

• High-level skills in music technology using Pro Tools and other current Digital Audio Workstations, as well as mixing and advanced music production tools;

• Teaching experience in music production and/or music technology;

• Master’s Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• A willingness to adhere to a structured curriculum and to develop course content and supplemental materials;

• An interest in working in a diverse workplace with a multicultural multi-talented student body.

Start date:

This is a full-time teaching position with a 9-month commitment (Fall and Spring semesters) and a renewable contract. The start date is September 1, 2024. Compensation is commensurate with professional experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dean of Professional Writing and Music Technology Division functions as part of the Academic Affairs Senior Leadership and reports to the Vice President/Executive Director of the college. The Dean will be a forward thinking, accomplished professional who will lead the division in areas of curriculum design and development, faculty and staff hiring, uses of technology, scholarship, and pedagogy and instruction.

The Department of Humanities & Communication at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Daytona Beach Campus seeks a tenure-track assistant professor with a Ph.D. in Communication, Humanities, or related field. The Senior Director provides visionary leadership by setting and implementing editorial policies, fostering a unified brand voice, and strategically developing and managing all editorial content and publications. This encompasses a diverse range of print and digital platforms, including Berklee.edu, Berklee Now, Berklee Today (alumni magazine), and the Sounds of Berklee podcast. With a keen focus on storytelling, the Senior Director plays a pivotal role in reinforcing Berklee’s impact and reputation in music, the performing arts, higher education, and beyond.

In addition to overseeing the editorial strategy and vision, this role will continuously identify improvement opportunities, establish target audiences, management of content calendars, and set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure the achievement of success metrics. Our client is the world's leading international institution for commercial dispute resolution. They also hold conferences, seminars, and other events of interest to them, and they operate a membership program around the world.

They are looking for an Events Manager who has experience with events in a similar industry eg. law or professional services. You'll work in a hybrid capacity 2 days a week in their stunning offices in the City of London.

The candidate will be working in a busy department that covers marketing, events, business development, and communications.

The team manages a wide range of international events - in-person, hybrid, and virtual, from industry workshops for no more than 20 industry specialists to debates hosting up to 400 people.

You'll manage the full lifecycle of events, from identifying the event requirements and expectations with key stakeholders at various levels to post-event reporting. You'll serve as the point of contact for venues, vendors, speakers, and attendees, and act as on-the-ground liaisons during the event itself. This role requires someone with strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple aspects of various events at once and the ability to hit the ground running.

The successful candidate will take the lead roles of assigned events and must also be able to answer internal and external enquiries about the organisation's full roster of events. For this reason, you'll work closely with one another as well as the Head of Membership and Events. The role is within a small, dedicated and supportive team and will suit someone who is hands-on and has great stakeholder management skills.

The ideal candidate should have experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate the following:

5+ years' experience managing both free and paid events, in-person, hybrid and virtual events including Zoom. International event management experience is a strong preference
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Hospitality Management a strong plus
Strong attention to detail, multitasking under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and delivering deadlines across multiple projects to various stakeholders
Excellent copywriting and oral communication skills targeting various internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products and experience working with CRMs and CMSs
Some experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and services such as InDesign, with basic graphic design skills - or at least an eye for good design and what makes a strong image
Experience with or an interest in arbitration
