About Us

Teaching Assistants and Communication Support Workers (CSW) are an essential part of the educational team working with children and young people who are deaf in Oxfordshire educational settings. TA/CSWs work in the Deaf and Hearing Support Resource Bases at New Marston Primary School and The Cherwell School (secondary), and with post-16 students who have a sensory impairment (deafness or vision impairment) in the Colleges of Further Education in Oxfordshire with a base at City of Oxford College.

About the Role

We are seeking Teaching Assistants or Communication Support Workers with a calm, encouraging and positive manner to work with deaf children and young people in the Deaf and Hearing Support Resource Bases at New Marston Primary School, Cherwell School in Oxford or City of Oxford College. No previous knowledge of working with deaf pupils is required.

The deaf pupils supported by the base have a range of communication modes and learning styles.Some speak and listen as their primary mode of communication, some use sign language together with speaking and listening, and some are British Sign Language users.

There are good public transport links and parking is also available.

The role is permanent and is term time only (39 weeks per year).

About you

You will have the ability to communicate sensitively and appropriately with children, young people, families, and colleagues.You work positively as part of a team but also feel confident to work independently and take initiative when needed.

You have a good level of basic education (e.g. Grade 4 or above in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent) or equivalent professional experience.

Working closely with specialist Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (ToDs), mainstream staff and other professionals to improve outcomes, your aim will be to enable access to the curriculum and to facilitate full inclusion for the pupils you work with.

Ideally, you will have experience of working with children and young people with SEN or disability, but training will be given.We are particularly interested if you have a qualification in communicating with deaf people (preferably Level 2 CACDP or above, or a level of fluency in BSL at a comparable stage). If you have an interest in learning sign language, this role offers opportunities to develop these skills.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be resilient, creative, and adaptable.

No previous knowledge of working with deaf pupils is required but would be an advantage.A passion for working with children and young people to make a difference and improve their access to learning is essential.

JOB SUMMARY
This job supports Customer Strategy Division and is primarily responsible for the development of clinical and healthcare-related content of client-facing materials that will optimize strategic messaging and communications.  Performs extensive edits of materials to ensure that content is accurate, forward-thinking, strategic, relevant and meaningful. Together with designated colleagues, this position coordinates the RFI and RFP responses from the Health Plan. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop, write and edit clinical, product and healthcare content to respond to RFI/RFP sections that have been assigned by the Sales Messaging Team. Ensure that RFI/RFP responses are consistent, clear, progressive and customized for the client, industry, market, etc. 
• Collaborate with appropriate clinical, product and healthcare Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop responses to unanswered and/or anticipated strategic questions. 
• Facilitate regular strategic planning sessions with appropriate SMEs to stay abreast of changes to Highmark’s capabilities, product offerings, marketing strategies and differentiators to build and maintain an RFI/RFP library that has been vetted and approved by the appropriate area's SMEs.
• Collaborate with the Customer Strategy Content Strategists and Sales Messaging teams to write and edit clinical and product content that leads to the development of client-facing materials, including strategic and proactive narratives for critical Highmark initiatives.
• Research and develop scientifically-based extrapolations that support potential cost-avoidance for preventable health risks. Work with the clinical and Customer Strategy teams to develop scenarios in which they are applied consistently.

Berklee College of Music invites applications for a full-time faculty member in the Contemporary Writing and Production Department.

The Contemporary Writing and Production Department includes 35 faculty members who provide specialized instruction in composition, orchestration, arranging, and production techniques, focusing on contemporary music styles and music technology tools. The department serves over 560 students in the contemporary writing and production major, the writing for television and new media specialization, and the Mediterranean music minor, as well as serving all students at Berklee College of Music in the arranging core courses.

This full-time position reports to the chair of Contemporary Writing and Production in the Professional Writing and Music Technology Division.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

• Teaching upper-level music production courses in the Contemporary Writing and Production major that incorporate advanced production techniques and current music technology tools in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production, mixing, and writer-producer collaborations in professional studio environments;

• Working one-on-one with senior CWP students as they prepare their writing and production graduation portfolio and transition to their professional careers in the music industry;

• Supervising recording sessions of student projects as part of the course requirements focusing on developing students’ leadership skills;

• Contribute to the department’s constant curriculum development to reflect the changes in the music industry.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Significant past and current professional experience as an active music producer in a variety of contemporary music styles, with an emphasis on hybrid production and remote collaboration in professional environments;

• High-level skills in music technology using Pro Tools and other current Digital Audio Workstations, as well as mixing and advanced music production tools;

• Teaching experience in music production and/or music technology;

• Master’s Degree in Music or equivalent professional experience;

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;

• A willingness to adhere to a structured curriculum and to develop course content and supplemental materials;

• An interest in working in a diverse workplace with a multicultural multi-talented student body.

Start date:

This is a full-time teaching position with a 9-month commitment (Fall and Spring semesters) and a renewable contract. The start date is September 1, 2024. Compensation is commensurate with professional experience.

The Admissions Communications Team is a hybrid marketing and communications team which blends traditional and digital marketing efforts with a strategic focus on communications and emphasis on operations. The team is made up of experts in skill areas such as: admissions, data and operations, marketing, communications, analytics, and strategy. Our email program is innovative, complex, and comprehensive. It is the main channel with which we communicate to our audiences and, as such, this role is crucial in both the day-to-day work, as well as planning our long-term email strategy.

Reporting into the Sr. Associate Director of Undergraduate Communications Operations, this role is tasked with:

• Supporting the email operations for the Undergraduate Admissions Communications team in Slate
• Supporting Campaign Managers on their email campaigns in Slate, including supporting new multi-channel initiatives and retiring old ones
• Managing complex email data and queries, such as building audience lists that drive automation and transform content into a personalized campaign. Audience segmentation management is critical.
• Reporting and analyzing email data
• Oversight of email template functionality in alignment with strategic and operational goals.
• Managing day-to-day responsibilities such as ensuring campaigns are prepared in advance and firing post-launch, data and processes are reviewed, and colleagues are supported in their Slate-based efforts.

• Implementing and maintaining scalable naming conventions and organizational systems for high-volume work.

Working closely with the Sr. Associate Director of Undergraduate Communications Operations, this position is a tactical role, responsible for executing against the complex email operations strategy while developing and maintaining operational components for campaign managers. The Sr. Assistant Director of Communications Operations will own pieces of the email operations process and will contribute to evolving the strategy. 

This role is also responsible for documentation, template support, data checks and management, as well as maintenance of email systems in the division, collaborating closely with colleagues across Enrollment Management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Provide the minimum education, experience, and skills required to perform the job successfully. 

The ideal candidate has technical experience in enrollment marketing, specifically working with email operations.

We are open to candidates who come from a strong higher education background in enrollment marketing or admissions positions, ideally with experience working within Slate and/or for email communications operations. In this case, we would prefer candidates to have 4 to 6 years of experience for those looking to switch to this technical email marketing role.

We are also open to candidates from outside of higher education with strong email marketing operations experience. 

For those candidates, we are looking for them to have a bachelor’s degree in a technical, interpersonal, or analytical field along with exposure to email marketing and communications strategies. For those with a non-higher education background, 3 to 5 years ofexperience—particularly in email marketing or marketing technology—is required. 

All candidates must possess strong analytical skills and technical aptitude which is provable via references or portfolios. Candidates must have strong organizational and time management skills. Team members must be self-starters with a demonstrated ability tohandle projects from start to finish and be committed to developing leadership skills to support the unit’s interests and goals asassigned. The ability to manage stakeholder expectations is critical. Attention to detail is a must. Candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Technical experience working within marketing and communications technology, such as a marketing automation tool (MAP) or Email Service Provider (ESP) and customer relationship management system (CRM), is strongly preferred. Experience with certain QC email tools such as Litmus or EoA is preferred. Experience working directly with Slate is ideal.

The Senior Director provides visionary leadership by setting and implementing editorial policies, fostering a unified brand voice, and strategically developing and managing all editorial content and publications. • Plans content strategy and calendar in coordination with enrollment strategy, advancement goals, and strategic initiatives.

• Conducts ongoing strategic assessment using KPIs and SEO to enhance content visibility.

• Monitors industry trends in higher education communications, music, dance, theater, business, technology, etc.

Public and Media Relations Strategies:

• Develops relationships with key journalists and media contacts in the music, entertainment, and performing arts industries, pitching proactively for key opportunities for institutional leaders and educators to be featured in prominent media.

• Leads daily media relations activities and crisis response planning.

• Maintains contact with college leaders to collect data reflecting national news cycles.

• Edits and approves staff writers' press releases and media action plans.

• Directs maintenance of databases and files for media relations documents and resources.

• Prepares itineraries for visiting media during college events and travels as a media relations liaison.

• Oversees the department's hometown news operation and coordinates with the communications team on news releases.

Quality Control and Brand Compliance:

• Directs Berklee's Proofreading Services to ensure brand consistency in public-facing materials.

• Assumes project management and communications liaison duties for written digital and print collateral.

• Collaborates with marketing, social media, design, and digital strategy directors for effective content campaigns.

• Oversees regular updates to the Berklee Style Guide and promotes its usage.

• Manages the Berklee Inclusive Language Guide, supporting diversity initiatives.

Management and Hiring:

• Recruits, hires, and manages all editorial staff and freelance/contract employees.

• Establishes and implements department-wide and individual staff goals.

• Oversees workflow distribution and performance evaluation.

• Manages editorial workflow for public content on Berklee.edu's Drupal CMS.

Writing and Executive Communications:

• Oversees and contributes to writing, proofreading, copyediting, and quality assurance of editorial content.

• Writes, edits, and advises on top-level messaging for speeches, thought leadership pieces, executive bios, and more.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum ten years of professional media relations and/or editorial experience. Minimum five years of experience managing in-house and freelance writers, publicists, or contributors.

• Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or equivalent; master's degree preferred.

• Demonstrated editing, writing, reporting, and proofreading experience.

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Experience conveying the diversity of a multicultural institution.

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.

• Strong familiarity with music, dance, and theater.

• Hybrid schedule: The position must be on campus a minimum of three days a week.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to manage public relations crises effectively.

• Effective management and leadership skills.

• Familiarity with Berklee, its alumni, and the worldwide music industry.

• Strong news and feature writing, grammar, editing, and proofreading skills.

• Demonstrated success in packaging content for media pitches, writing press releases, and generating results.

• Experience in managing regional, domestic, and international publicity efforts.

• Comprehensive understanding of video, television, and radio broadcast preparation practices and ability to deliver media training.

• Ability to maintain quality of work while adhering to deadlines.

• Ability to create and maintain positive relationships within the office and with students, faculty, and staff throughout the institution.

• Director of Content Strategy, including their team of three full-time and one part-time writers/editors.

• Director of Media Relations and two full-time publicists.
