As a Carpenter, WG-4607-09 with the National Park Service (NPS), your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Constructs, installs, and repairs a variety of wooden items and structures, such as framework, rafters, windows and doors, paneling, cabinets, and trim.
- Inspects work completed by others, including contractors, to ensure it meets trade standards and building codes.
- Interprets blueprints and specifications to plan and complete carpentry projects.
- Stabilizes or restores items such as door, windows, or flooring to ensure structural integrity.
- Fabricates duplicate replacements of items such as molding, beams, or trim which require angled or curved cuts or where the final appearance is of great importance.
