General Building Operative - Construction Labourer
Bedford, MK40 4UL.
Contract Position - 3 weeks.
6 Days a week Monday - Saturday, 10 -12 hours per day.
Our client is a leading UK engineering business specialising in major mechanical and electrical installations within the manufacturing industry. The huge range of work carried out by the company includes pipework and plant installations, planned and preventive maintenance, facilities management along with a variety of other engineering services. This is a fantastic opportunity for a general building operative - construction labourer to join the company supporting a high-profile project in Bedford, MK40 4UL.
Duties
As an experienced general building operative - construction labourer you will be working on site at a food manufacturing facility, assisting with the construction of a new extension to the canning line. Specific duties will include working with the tiling company to lay wall and floor tiles to the new production area. Typically moving tiles from the storage area to where they will be installed, mixing adhesive, preparing grout and keeping the work area clean and free from packaging. Other duties will include assisting the tilers as necessary and general labouring tasks including removing rubbish to skips.
About You
Based ideally in Bedford you will need to live within a commutable distance of MK40 4UL as no travel or accommodation costs will be covered.
Experience of working within a physically demanding construction environment and a sound construction background is essential for this work.
Due to the time critical programme of works you must be able to work on Saturday.
CSCS or an equivalent Construction Health and Safety qualification is preferred.

In return for your experience, you will receive an hourly rate between £15.50PAYE and £20.00CIS per hour as well as a range of benefits.
