The Opportunity:
This post is full-time, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, with a one-hour lunch break. There is a requirement to be on campus a minimum of two days a week at our Bioquarter Campus, Little France. We are open to either remote working or on-campus working for the other three days of the week (hybrid working offered on a non-contractual basis). Candidates must reside within commuting distance of Edinburgh.
The post holder will manage course registration on virtual learning environments, maintain student records, handle student registration for our online courses. They will provide support for postgraduate research reviews, including serving as Secretary to the Research Committee and assist with organising the annual symposium for clinical educators.
Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and IT skills, with experience of working in a higher education environment. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple competing demands and deadlines. A proactive approach, the ability to work both independently and within a team, and experience using student and course management software (e.g., EUCLID, Canvas or Unidesk) would be advantageous.
The post holder will be expected to exercise good judgment and make decisions regarding administrative processes, prioritising tasks and resolving day-to-day issues effectively. This includes knowing when to escalate matters to management and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

Ability to exercise initiative appropriately and to take decisions while working within an agreed framework.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, in writing and in person, exercising discretion and diplomacy, respect and confidentiality, and ability to interact effectively and maintain good staff relationships at all levels within and outwith the University.
Ideally, previous experience using student and course management software.
