Clinical coders are a vitale part of our team. We receive large volumes of clinical information on a daily basis (electronic and paper based) regarding patients and other matters. This filters in from a variety of sources and it all needs organising, coding, actioning and sharing with the relevant people in the practice using Docman 10. The role consists of managing these documents, coding and updating the Patients' medical record within EMIS Web.

The successful candidate will be joining Dr Jean Patrick in providing cover to the renal dialysis unit. Currently some of that cover is provided by visiting consultants from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). It would be expected that the post holder would work collaboratively with the renal team at the NNUH to improve the provision for renal patients at the James Paget University Hospital. It is expected over time there would be an increasing commitment to supporting renal services which would be expected to include renal clinics, research activity and teaching renal medicine to medical students and training junior doctors.

There may be an opportunity to participate in daytime Obstetric sessions. Participate in the departmental Quality Improvement programmes under the direction of the Clinical Lead Be expected to fulfil criteria for Clinical supervision and encouraged for Educational supervision to participate in training and teaching of post-graduate and undergraduate trainees Be encouraged to show leadership qualities to develop services
