We have an opportunity for a Landscape Technician to join our team based in Stoke on Trent. You will be responsible for the ground maintenance of numerous sites across Staffordshire and Cheshire, ensuring that all outside spaces are in excellent condition. The role will include both team and lone working and you will be provided with a van and tools to get jobs done.

Daily tasks can include weeding, trimming hedges/bushes, lawn mowing, litter picking and applying pesticide treatments at the different schemes. Training will be provided, and different opportunities are available to progress your career with Sanctuary.

The role of Landscape Technician will include:

- Undertaking grounds maintenance duties such as weeding, trimming hedges/bushes, lawn mowing, litter picking and applying pesticide treatments
- Ensuring all tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, strimmers and all relevant hand tools are maintained in good, workable condition and are operated within a safe manner
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of tasks, completing daily work records as appropriate
- Complying with health and safety requirements in accordance with supplier guidelines and assessments


Skills and experiences:

- NVQ 2 in horticulture or similar
- Previous experience working in ground maintenance or a similar role where operating gardening machinery is required
- Holding a pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent would be desirable
- An enthusiastic, well organised team player with good interpersonal skills
- Some experience interpreting written instruction and maintaining simple written records

What we're looking for:

We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a team, delivering high-quality service to residents. This physically demanding role requires you to work outdoors year-round, in all weather conditions, while maintaining accurate records and sharing best practices to continuously improve our service. You will also need:

• Experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping.
• Ideally hold an NPTC or Lantra qualifications in brush cutter, pedestrian mower, ride-on mower, hedge cutter, and PA1 and PA6 for pesticide spraying (training available)

The role is multi-skilled, covering mechanical and electrical maintenance.

To be successful you will have:

Essential:

• Facilities maintenance experience
• Full Valid UK driver's license
• "On the job" experience working in a maintenance role
• Strong communication skills and work ethic
• Awareness and knowledge of health & safety
• A recognised apprenticeship or qualification (such as City and Guilds, BTEC, NVQ), or significant proven demonstrable experience in mechanical and electrical services.
• Technical knowledge and experience of maintenance and repair of a complex working environment including electrical and mechanical equipment whilst complying with all Safety and Environmental standards

Desirable:

• Distribution centre maintenance experience

Other Information:

• You'll be working 40 hours per week, generally Monday to Friday (shifts 6am -2.30pm and 9.30am to 6pm) although some weekend work will be required on an ad-hoc basis to meet the needs of the business
• There is a requirement to work 1 in 3 weeks on call (maximum)
• There is a degree of flexibility required, as determined by business requirements which involves travelling to other Depots to provide on call support, cover for absence or where work requirements are dictated. Any time travelled to the campus / sister site will be within working hours

We have an opportunity for a Landscape Technician Charge Hands (also known as a Grounds Maintenance Charge Hand). The role of Landscape Technician Charge Hand is within Estate services, Covering multiple schemes across Staffordshire & Cheshire, working in teams of 2 or 3 people maintaining gardens to a high standard. Completing all aspects of grounds maintenance such as grass cutting, shrub & hedge pruning, pesticide treatments, soft & hard landscaping.

Completing risk assessment, job sheets & Apps, you will be working to a high standard whilst liaising with customers and leading the team. You will be provided with a shared company vehicle for all travel to sites. The main area covered will be Staffordshire and Cheshire with the possibility of occasionally travelling further afield.

The role of Landscape Technician Charge Hand will include:

- Use equipment and materials in a safe manner as instructed and in accordance with risk assessment and the manufacturer’s guidance
- Carry out all hazardous tasks such as spraying, in accordance with supplier guidelines ensuring relevant records are maintained to comply with health and safety and legal requirements
- Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and continue to be suitable for required tasks
- Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery to meet customer expectations


Skills and experiences:

- PA1 & PA6 pesticide license is essential
- Experience in grounds maintenance and leading a team is essential
- NVQ 2 or equivalent in Horticulture or similar discipline is desirable
- This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

We are looking for a Landscape Technician to join our Estate Service team based in Worcester. Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for the ground works on 40 sites across Worcestershire. The role will involve lawn mowing, hedge/shrub pruning and litter picking. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and a well organised team player with good interpersonal skills who has previous experience in a gardening role and knows how to operate garden tools and powered machinery.

The role of Landscape Technician will include:

- Undertaking grounds maintenance duties such as grass cutting, pruning, weed/moss treatment
- Ensuring all tools and equipment such as hedge trimmers, strimmers and all relevant hand tools are maintained in good, workable condition and are operated within a safe manner
- Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of tasks, completing daily work records as appropriate
- Complying with health and safety requirements in accordance with supplier guidelines and assessments


Skills and experiences:

- Previous experience working within a similar role where operating gardening machinery is required
- Holding a pesticide application certificate PA1 – PA6 or equivalent would be desirable
- Good communication skills
- The ability to manage and prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines
