The Facilities & Procurement Specialist role reports to the Head of Procurement and is responsible for maintaining our corporate facilities nationally and providing assistance to the business in line with procurement policy and process.

Key Responsibilities;

Oversee the facilities located nationally, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Performing observation-based screening, collecting patient information in collaboration with licensed personnel. This may involve obtaining patient health/medication history, and information about health-related or high- ill complete approved templates and tools.
• Participates in the admission of patients by obtaining information, orienting patients to the unit and treatment team, obtaining vital signs and weight and checking patients and their belongings for hazardous items.
• Obtain patient vital signs, document in the EHR, and report any vitals outside of normal range to licensed staff member.
• Observations and interventions. Examples: oxygen therapy, thermal regulation, ambulation, oral/trach care, IV insertion/removal.
• Point-of-care testing such as I-STAT and glucometer.
• Operates specialized equipment such as defibrillators, electrocardiographs, bladder scans, electrocardiographic monitors, and oxygen apparatus according to training/competencies and national/local policy.
• Wound care such as bandaging, applications of dressings and wound measurements.
• Specimen collections and Preparation such as collecting and labeling venous blood and samples, urine, stool, wound and mucous specimens.
• Patient transport such as transporting patients with cardiac monitor or assisting licensed staff with patients on cardiac monitoring, chest tube, or other complex medical support devices to and from diagnostic tests or between hospital units.
• Setting up equipment and passing instruments in the event of defibrillation, cardioversions, 2 insertion of chest drainage tubes, insertion of thoracostomy tubes, lumbar puncture, electroconvulsive therapy, rapid sequence intubation, or initiation of mechanical ventilation to restore normal physiological function or prevent deterioration of condition.
• Applies non-sterile hot/cold compresses, packs, and soaks and utilizes equipment that provides heating or cooling as directed by provider.
• Assists in behavioral/psychiatric situations within the acute care setting. This can include assisting licensed personnel with crisis intervention, assisting with observation and documentation of aggressive or suicidal psychiatric patients by providing one-tone observations and applying Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) techniques.
• Medication administration will comply with national directives and local policies utilizing Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) as required and whenever applicable. Administration methods may include intramuscular, oral, topical, eye drops, ear drops, intranasal, intraosseous, rectal suppositories, normal saline IV push, local anesthetics, nebulized medications, subcutaneous, and intradermal.
• Demonstrates acceptable behavior as a role model for patient behavior. Encourages patient and family to actively participate in the individualized treatment plan. Encourages positive patient-family relationships. Teaches patients and family members the necessity of continuing proper health care.
• Provides general clerical administrative support coordination work for the unit. Maintains patient records/charts.

This position is located with the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS). NDMS supports state, local, tribal and territorial (SLTT) authorities following disasters and emergencies by supplementing health and medical systems and response capabilities. The HHS Office of the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, in its role as Coordinator of Emergency Support Function 8 (ESF-8), Public Health and Medical Services, of the National Response Framework, employs the NDMS to provide patient care, patient movement, and definitive care, as well as veterinary services, and fatality management support when requested by authorities from states, localities, tribes and territories, or other federal departments. In a disease outbreak, they may provide mass prophylaxis. During a special event, they stand ready to serve in case of an emergency. But no matter what the specific mission is, NDMS teams provide expert patient care that protects individual health and promotes national health security.

Verify that the body of the deceased is the body to be autopsied and makes all arrangements to schedule the autopsy to include all necessary documentation, authorization and records.

Convey observations to Pathologist or Physician observed on body or organs; remove and maintain specimens for proper storage.

Assist Pathologist or Physician to perform autopsy (i.e.) incision, closing, tissue samples, organ samples.

Maintain proper assembly and routing of specimens for laboratory study; assist in collection of specimens to include DNA sampling.

Your new role
Your new role working as a Senior Binder Technician means you will be providing guidance and support to teams in relation to Delegated authority business and assisting in the management of all Internal and Third-Party binding authorities including the monitoring of declarations and bordereaux.
Duties will include preparing new and renewal contracts for all delegated authority business, preparing renewal presentations and statistics for all binding authorities and/or line slips, and provide reporting, addressing DA performance, and ensuring binding authority limits and guidelines are adhered to. Other duties will also include the management of Lloyd's DCOM, DDM and Atlas systems, producing and monitoring quarterly premiums for Third Party binding authorities, issuing triangle statistics and managing and assisting new Coverholders applications. Also, deal with Profit Commission calculations and collections on binders, providing statistics on contracts, territories and lineslips as well as provide management information on agents on a quarterly basis.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as a Senior Binder Technician or Binder Manager handling International Binders will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have knowledge of general insurance business and be confident in FCA and Lloyd's Market requirements. You will need market, industry and product knowledge and be proactive in keeping knowledge up to date. You will have numeracy and literacy skills as well as communication, organisational and data analysis skills. You will act with integrity, due skills, care and diligence. You will need experience in systems such as Atlas, DCOM, DDM, Lloyd's Crystal, Aims (Lloyd's Audit), PPL, Whitespace and Microsoft Office Suite.
