The Sterile Services Department at the Luton & Dunstable NHS Trust requires a Technician to join our busy team.

Working at 37.5 hours a week, alternating weekly shifts 08:00 to 16:00 and 13:00 to 21:00 and every 4thweekend. (bank holidays by rota)

The Department processes flexible endoscopes, surgical instruments and supplies sterile and disinfected equipment to the wards, departments and theatres within the hospital.

Duties will involve the decontamination and sterilizing of surgical instruments including flexible endoscopes, operation of decontamination equipment and distribution of sterile items throughout the hospital.

Experience is desirable but not essential as an in-house training programme is in place.

What will you be doing?

Salary: £35,300 pa OTE (basic £30,800 pa + £2,400 pa bonus OTE + Training Bonus + Overtime)

In your role, as a Vehicle Technician, we know what is important to you is helping a customer get their vehicle back on the road safely and in quick time. You’re a hands-on, Level 2 or Level 3 qualified Mechanic and, whether the job at hand is routine servicing and maintenance or more complex diagnostics, you will know just how to solve it.

Apprentice Assembly Technician

Join a dynamic and leading multinational engineering company specialising in vehicle testing, modification, and conversion for various applications, including hypercars, buses, military vehicles, and heavily modified vehicles. With operations across Europe, our client is offering a unique opportunity for 4 passionate individuals to embark on an apprenticeship programme to become an expert Assembly Technician.

As an Apprentice Assembly Technician, you will be an integral part of a large-scale project involving the conversion of 100 road vehicles into specialised armoured vehicles for public sector use. This apprenticeship offers a blend of practical training and theoretical knowledge, providing a foundation in engineering practices within an exciting and challenging environment.

Responsibilities:

• Learn the process of re-assembling vehicles after modification for specialist operations.
• Utilise various tools, interpret engineering drawings, and work efficiently and safely.
• Follow production pictures to strip down and rebuild vehicles according to specifications.
• Upgrade vehicle components, including electronic systems and controls.
• Collaborate with experienced professionals in a hands-on learning environment.

The role is to support their prestigious Defence client at the Stevenage site. The Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for ensuring product certification and should have a versatile skill set for performing various tasks using appropriate equipment, tools, gauges, and measuring instruments. They will be responsible for producing, repairing, and modifying company products while adhering to building standards and specifications.

As a Live Build Manufacturing Technician, your primary responsibilities include manufacturing, testing, and inspection tasks. To meet project objectives, you will follow product certification procedures, assigned budgets, and timescales. This is an excellent opportunity for contract extension or permanent employment.

Get up to £1,600 a month for accommodation if you do not live within 30 miles from Henlow. Full apprenticeship required - this project is a UK eyes only and requires all employees to achieve the appropriate clearance relevant to the role.

What we're looking for:

• Approved Apprenticeship/Apprenticeship Framework/Modern Apprenticeship
• Vocational G or H Units with Further Education, City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3
• or Vocational TR23 Units with Further Education, ONC or City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3

• Experience in a Manufacturing / Craftsman position.
• ESD training.

What you'll get to do as a Live Build Manufacturing Technician:

• Certify the product in line with the product certification procedure and possess product certification and approval via regular audits.
• Maintain a versatile skill base to apply these skills across a range of tasks.
• Be fully conversant with all equipment, tools and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle.
• Ensure manufacturing build, inspection, and test times are met where relevant and maintain the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality.
• Provide compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing
• Capable of certifying the product and possessing a versatile skill base
• Ability to apply the essential skills across a range of tasks utilising equipment and tools, gauges and measuring instruments associated with the production, repair, and modification of company products
