Job title: Apprentice ICT & Media Support Technician Contract type: Fixed Term Contract for 24 monthsSchool: Swindon Academy, Nova Hreod AcademyStart date: ASAPWorking hours: 37.5 hours a week Monday-FridayWe are looking to recruit an ICT & Media Support Technician Apprentice who is a hardworking, organised individual with flexibility and a willingness to learn.As an apprentice, you’ll work and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, you will receive training and accreditation through blended learning.Main Duties:Assist the IT team when installing computer equipment. maintaining equipment .Support the Helpdesk, adding and updating support calls.Support with the deployment of software and updates.Set up equipment required to deliver a practical music, theatre or dance lesson.Support teaching staff by recording and archiving students’ work.Support teachers and groups of students in the use of technology, including sound and audio equipment in the recording studio and other resources.To provide theatrical lighting and sound production support for music, dance, drama productions, academy events and celebrations, which may on occasion include evening and weekend support for the annual productions.Meeting the apprenticeship course requirementsOur ideal candidate will have:Sound literacy and numeracy, GCSE in English and Maths at Grade C or aboveExcellent communication skills and be able to build good relationships with young people and adultsAn ability to deal with students and staff so that they feel they have been dealt with consistently and fairlyThe ability to show initiative whilst knowing when to take adviceGood judgement over matters of confidentiality and integrity in dealing with sensitive information about studentsStrong IT skills with the ability to positively respond to training in the use of school IT packagesPlease note we reserve the right to close the vacancy early in light of a large response.Due to the high volume of applications received, the School is unable to provide individual feedback on why an application is unsuccessful.
