Based out of the Birmingham HQ, you will work across various on site locations for some of the Regions largest house builders completing soft landscaping works.

Your day will start in the HQ Yard loading up the van with all the necessary supplies for the day ahead. All works are pre-scheduled by the contracts team and all materials pre-picked to allow a quick turnaround.

Working from architectural drawings, your daily duties will include -

The Role

The Role of a Maintenance Operative

A maintenance operative carries the responsibility for the domestic repairs & maintenance upkeep of the premises, minor projects within the site complex and all compliancy needed for the running of the site.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Multi Skilled Engineer working in the Healthcare/Education sector in Birmingham.

The key responsibilities include:

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and associated building services in accordance with the PPM programme and personal competence and training
• To undertake a proactive role in carrying out maintenance, repairs and inspection of mechanical building services. All in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance.
• Assist in Carrying out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
• Assist in Carrying out systematic fault finding in a logical and safe manner on malfunctioning equipment.
• Maintain records as and when appropriate and as required, whether written or electronic..
• Ensure liaison with Wards and Departments as required, ensuring there is minimum disruption whilst carrying out work.
• Carry out risk assessments on-site as instructed by supervisor / manager.
• Diligently complete all required job cards and other work related paperwork to the required standard.
• Complete work within the allotted timeframes.
• Carry out any other identified tasks commensurate with role..
• Carry out required Authorised Person (AP) duties as required by site management and personal competence.
• Participate in the Engineer on call rota (Additional Payment associated)

Qualifications and experience required include:

• NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance Services or equivalent.
• Experience with mechanical systems, including DHW, LPHW, CHW, and ventilation systems.
• Previous pipe fitting duties
• Worked on Steam systems (desirable​)
• Previously worked within a maintenance environment

The pay rate is £19.39 - £21.10

Principle Duties and Responsibilities Quality Monitoring Arrange and carry out scheduled and ad hoc quality monitoring audits across a range of Soft FM Services including but not limited to Cleaning, Catering, Pest control, Window Cleaning and Security. Responsible for developing, setting up, operating, and reviewing contract management and cleaning monitoring systems. Point of contact for PFI Service provider. Responsible for the KPI monitoring of the PFI agreement for the Soft FM services and associated performance calculations relating to the PFI contract. Responsible for the administration of contract management and cleaning monitoring systems and associated operational protocols. Point of contact for the monitoring system, dealings all issues, queries, and training for PFI partners and the wider E&F team. Responsible for escalated queries from other team members/Clinical teams that require resolution due to their complexity. Lead for the team in the quick and successful resolution of audit conduct queries. Ensuring all complaints are entered into the PFI Partners helpdesk systems. Responsible for co-ordinating responses to internal and external audits and associated action plans and ensuring recommendations are implemented and maintained.

IT Technician – To Start December 2024
£23,974 - £24,878 per annum dependent on experience, skills and qualifications40 hrs per week: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (some flexibility around the precise start and end times can be discussed at interview) with the need to be flexible to occasionally work outside these hours as required), working all year round with 30 days’ annual leave plus paid bank holidays.
The Role
Hallfield School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and competent IT Technician, with relevant experience in a similar help desk role, to assist in providing essential day-to-day user support and network and systems maintenance across the School.
The post holder will need to demonstrate a sound knowledge of PCs, laptops, printers, audio-visual components and other network devices as well as experience of supporting users within a Microsoft Windows environment.
Exceptional customer service and technical problem solving and trouble shooting skills combined with a positive and flexible approach are essential as part of the role will be providing first line support to all users (supporting pupils and staff), both face to face and remote support, to ensure continuity of delivery of educational and business services.
The post holder will work closely with the current IT Technician (as a team of two) to deliver a seamless and supportive service to all users whilst liaising with 3rd party suppliers as required.
Whilst not essential, experience of working within the education sector would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities of the IT Technician include, but are not limited to:
• Provide first line technical support, responding to users’ helpdesk requests in a timely and effective manner to minimise any disruption to teaching, learning or administration.
• To support teachers and pupils in the classroom and support with school events as required.
• To implement user change requests.
• To ensure compliance with backup, anti-virus and other security provisions.
• To maintain and upgrade desktop hardware (including peripherals) and software, maintaining a suitable desktop environment for users and installing software applications, routine maintenance and servicing of ICT equipment.
• Maintaining the computer room and network in a ready state to use at the start of the day reporting any issues which can’t be resolved to the Director of Finance & Operations.
• Keeping the computer room tidy / check ICT bookings.
• To ensure the Digital Learning Platform and end user devices (iPads) are in working order and report any issues to the Head of Computing & Digital Learning.
• Supervise the use of printers and replenishing toners as required.
• To ensure sensible use of equipment such as computers, printers, scanners and adherence to the School’s policies in this respect.
• To undertake archive management of networked resources.
• To take ownership of network improvement projects by identifying areas of improvement and working with the Director of Finance & Operations to make the improvements
