Job Description

• Manage teams on a daily basis to ensure that they work safely and maintain high standards of work
• Being proactive in identifying and resolving site problems, complaints or difficulties
• Managing of all subcontractors on their sites ensuring that works are carried out safely, to agreed standards, and are profitable.
• Raise / Check Staff Time Sheets weekly and submit to accounts and Agency on a Monday
• Raise and update Maintenance Schedules in line with contract, BoQ, Specification and Drawings.
• Organise Labour resources (Direct, Subcontractor and Agency) in the most efficient manner to get the job done, allocating work schedules with due consideration for staff skills, training, qualifications and experience

• Complete 6 and 13-week probation reviews and annual staff appraisal for direct employed staff

• Informing the SHEQ department of any external training required by their staff
• Raise and submit a monthly Maintenance Reports for all sites to clients and the Ops Manager to include progress, issues, defects, works completed, works due/overdue for all sites
• Attend all Managers, Department and Client meetings as and when required
• Raise quotes for any extra work ensuring that the works are accurately costed and profitable
• Order materials required for the works and ensure additional works are invoiced
• Ensure that they are familiar with, and observe, the requirements of Frosts H&S, Quality and Environmental Policies, Management Systems and Procedures pertinent to the role/project
• Manage all allocated vehicles and machinery in a proficient manner ensuring that their staff keep the machinery well maintained (operators checks) and the vehicles clean and tidy
• Producing and updating Method Statements and Site-Specific Risk Assessments for all their works using allocated forms and ensuring that staff read and sign these method statements.
• Carryout a monthly SHEQ Audit of one of their sites
• Organising the summer watering schedule, labour, bowsers, standpipes, standpipe licences etc and ensuring all trees and large shrubs and GM sites including planters that are under warranty/defects liability / contract are watered
• Organising Winter Drain Down & Spring Start Up on irrigation systems for all Contracts
• Assist in producing Maintenance Schedules and O&M Manuals for projects
• Profitable running of Grounds Maintenance (GM) Contracts
• Raising a Master GM Work Schedule (Daily/Weekly/Fortnightly/Monthly) for all GM Contracts
• Ensuring GM Contracts do not suffer excessive plant and tree defects due to poor Grounds Maintenance or Watering
• Liaising Suppliers to ensure GM Machinery is well maintained
• Monthly checks of all GM Staff spray books to ensure they are properly completed
• Keeping the GM Stores and Pesticide stores tidy
• Organising staff parking in London, paying for parking on the credit card or organising advances from accounts, collecting staff parking receipts and returning them to accounts

Our client seeks a Manufacturing Technician to support their prestigious Defence client at the Stevenage site. The technician will ensure product certification, use appropriate equipment, tools, gauges, callipers, and measuring instruments, and produce, repair, and modify company products following build standards and specifications.

As a Live Build Manufacturing Technician, you will manufacture, test, and inspect products according to certification procedures, project objectives, budgets and timescales.

• Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC Experience in a Manufacturing / Craftsman position.
• ESD training.

What you'll get to do as a Live Build Manufacturing Technician:

The candidate is expected to possess product certification and approval via regular audits and certify the product in line with the certification procedure. They should maintain a versatile skill base to apply these skills across a range of tasks, be fully conversant with all equipment, tools, and measuring instruments associated with the manufacturing cycle, and ensure manufacturing build, inspection, and test times are met while maintaining high workmanship standards and product quality. Additionally, they should comply with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing and be able to apply essential skills across a range of tasks utilising equipment, tools, gauges, and measuring instruments associated with the production, repair, and modification of company products.

Get up to £1,600 a month for accommodation if you do not live within 30 miles from Henlow. Full apprenticeship required - this role is eligible to UK nationals and citizens only.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

This role is based at the Stevenage headquarters, crucial for missile operations, with good transport links. Training and development are provided to all employees, and you may qualify for up to £400 per week in lodging expenses if you live more than 30 miles away.

Main Duties

• Weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (waste management, flushing of little used outlets / water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.).
• First line response to reactive repairs.
• Minor building fabric repairs and modifications.
• Decorating tasks.
• Basic plumbing.
• Basic carpentry.
• General office cleaning (by exception)
• General cleaning or janitorial duties as requested (by exception).
• Supporting external landscaping and cleaning as required
• Ad hoc porterage duties (Moves & changes, furniture management & moves, etc.).
• Stock management
• Housekeeping of facilities plant rooms and workshop

• Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.

• To assist all trades within the team and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
• Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner
• Proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.

What we are looking for

• Experience of building maintenance, handyperson, janitorial duties.
• Ability to identify and select correct materials and tools for a job
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a building environment.
• Have a proactive approach to maintenance and building management.
• Confident, driven, and pro-active.
• Able to do the job right and do it right first time, within a pre-determined timescale.
• Willingness to undertake further training.
• Ability to provide a schedule of works for identified additional / remedial works.
• Writing and following risk and method statements as required daily.
• Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
• Good knowledge of building Statutory Compliance.
• Hold a full UK driver's license.

39-hour week, Monday - Thursday 8am to 17pm & Friday 8am - 13.30pm
