- As deputy to the commander, plans, organizes, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Group. Provides executive leadership and managerial insight to subordinate 27 SOMXG squadrons.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. With the 27th Special Operations Maintenance Group (SOMXG) Commander, directs, coordinates, and oversees the work of more than 1600 personnel, comprised of three maintenance squadrons and one maintenance operations support squadron.
- Represents the 27 SOMXG Commander with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with installation command; commanders and deputies of other groups on the installation;
- Manages assigned resources to achieve peak mission support with greatest economy. Analyze operational trends forecasts requirements and identifies shortfalls.
- Participates in special projects & initiatives & performs special assignments to include long-term planning, functional/technical advice & guidance & continuity of management from the Maintenance perspective.
