Hours: 40 Hours per week
Sympathetically refurbished and extended using traditional local stone Tallington Lodge is an integral part of the community in the pretty village of Tallington in Lincolnshire. Led by Manju the Manager, the staff create a safe and warm friendly atmosphere.
We are looking for a friendly, motivational and experienced Maintenance Person to join our team and ensure our care home is a safe environment for the residents and staff and conforms to the requirements as laid out under the Health and Safety legislation.

ABOUT THE MAINTENANCE PERSON ROLE
Within your role as Maintenance Person, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives, its important our Residents are cared for within a 5* environment and therefore your role will be working jointly with the Home Manager to ensure that our home is maintained to the highest of standards. Your responsibilities will include:
Ensure that all the property remains in a safe and structural condition and that all utilities are fully operational.
Ensure that all tools and equipment used are stored in a safe place for the protection and safety of residents and staff & ensure that the storage of all cleaning and dangerous materials conform to the Home’s COSHH policy
Complete the various maintenance, fire and health and safety checks as advised by the Home Manager.
Ensure that any vehicle used to transport residents is in a safe condition and conform to legal requirements.
Participate in the cleaning of the home by ‘being in control’ of the shampooing by using the shampooing machine on a weekly basis and or, as required to do so.
Report daily to the Person in Charge or the maintenance book to see if any jobs need doing before commencing work.
Carry out light plumbing, electrical and carpentry work, in line with skill levels and qualifications, as well as decorating.

At least 1 years’ experience as a maintenance person
Have knowledge or understanding of a wide range of traditional building trades
Knowledge or understanding of health & safety at work, particularly moving and handling techniques and COSHH assessments
A can-do attitude with drive & self-motivation
Have the ability to own issues to resolutions
Have a friendly & caring attitude
Have strong written & verbal communication skills
Knowledge or understanding of the care sector
A clean driving licence is required for this role
