The Role
They are seeking a full time Pharmacist Technician to join their team in Coober Pedy. This is for a full time position at an annual salary at $77,000 plus superannuation.

The Responsibilities
Offering warm greetings and assistance to patients and healthcare professionals, both in-person and over the phone, while directing specific inquiries to the pharmacist for expert advice.
Managing the pharmacy's inventory meticulously to ensure the availability of necessary medications and supplies. This includes monitoring stock levels, forecasting requirements, placing timely orders, confirming deliveries, and disposing of expired medications responsibly.
Upholding a clean and secure pharmacy environment by adhering to established safety standards, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
Ensuring the protection of both patients and staff by strictly following infection-control protocols.
Coordinating the precise and prompt distribution of medications and sterile products, thereby contributing to the safe and effective treatment of patients.
Assisting pharmacists in the preparation of medications for dispensing. This involves interpreting medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating required quantities, and assembling IV solutions and other pharmaceutical treatments as needed.
Keeping accurate records by documenting and filing prescriptions and physician orders, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Contributing to the pharmacy's financial health through careful calculation, recording, and issuing of billing charges for medications and services provided.
Conducting thorough stock management tasks, including storing new stock appropriately, rotating items to use those with the nearest expiry dates first, performing stock counts, and checking for expired products.
Overseeing the procurement of prescription medications and other pharmacy consumables to maintain adequate supplies.
Managing customer accounts, including billing and maintaining accurate patient records, to ensure a smooth and efficient pharmacy operation.
Working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.
Facilitating the availability of medications by delivering them directly to patients and different departments as required.
Generating reports that summarize key information, supporting the continuous improvement of pharmacy services.

The requirements
A relevant certification or degree in Pharmacy Technology or a related field.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
A minimum of 4 years of experience with retail pharmacy operations, including the sale of over-the-counter medications and products.
Proven track record of collaborating with pharmacy management to develop and implement purchasing strategies that enhance medication accessibility and pharmacy sales.
Willingness and ability to travel within a 100 km radius to support pharmacy operations across regional areas, as needed.
Availability for full-time employment with a long-term commitment to the role and organization.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, efficiently managing a diverse set of tasks and responsibilities.
Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively and adapt to changing priorities and workflows.
