Summary: The primary purpose of this position is: To provide appropriate, specialized developmental care and instruction for children in the Child Development Center (CDC). In addition, performs basic oversight and supervision for a designated classroom for ages 6 months through 5 years. The incumbent may be designated as the supervisor on duty, as needed, whenever the Child Development Center (CDC) Director is not physically in the facility.

Duties:

• Designs, implements, and reviews activity plans.
• Observes and evaluates each child's health and development and reports on and maintains records of observations.
• Prepares and implements specialized programs for children with special needs, i.e., children with disciplinary problems, learning disabilities, or gifted children.
• Provides technical guidance and leadership to junior employees assigned to assist with program activities and participates in special projects.

1. Conducts extensive searches for information pertaining to complex and/or unusual supply transactions and patterns.
2. Provides supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for equipment and/or parts requiring special handling.
3. Determines stock levels needed for non-recurring, specialized items based on usage, inventory, project demands, seasonal demands, changing customer needs, and projected depletion.
4. Prepares recurring and special reports. Compiles statistics from data requiring substantial analysis, interpretation, and development of new formats.
5. Performs administrative office support functions and maintains cooperative working relationships with team members, related functions, and operating officials.
6. Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents that often require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing and reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases or spreadsheets.

1. Independently performs a variety of complex budgetary, administrative, and statistical functions to support budget formulation.

2. Independently performs tasks involving budget execution by compiling resource data from various financial management reports.

3. Performs technical tasks in support of the financial analysis process.

4. Provides quality customer service and establishes good working relationships with all employees and co-workers. Provides information about budget procedures to local program managers and accounting personnel.

• Performs a full range of accounting duties using double-entry accrual accounting methods.
• Classifies and verifies a wide variety of accounting documents in order to assure their mathematical correctness, completeness of information, and to prepare control sheets with appropriate accounting codes.
• Maintains double-entry bookkeeping journals and subsidiary ledgers, posting entries to establish accounts.
• Prepares monthly balances, reconciles accounts, and transcribes to general ledger for closeout of all accounts.
• Traces discrepancies, if necessary, to posting documents, computes operational expenses incurred by individual activities for accounting services provided, and assigns charges appropriately.
• Reports prepared may include profit and loss statements, financial statements, and miscellaneous financial reporting data.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

DUTIES:

• Designs, implements, and reviews activity plans. The incumbent uses own initiative to design and implement a variety of activity plans to stimulate and sustain the interest of children and to contribute to their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Observes and evaluates each child's health and development and reports on and maintains records of observations.
• Prepares and implements specialized programs for children with special needs, i.e., children with disciplinary problems, learning disabilities, or gifted children.
• Provides technical guidance and leadership to junior employees assigned to assist with program activities and participates in special projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performs a variety of tasks in the day to day upkeep and maintenance of Lodging facilities, related structures, fixtures and utilities. Performs visual examination to determine the need for repair work.
• Performs simple carpentry tasks such as repairing items, and a variety of furniture. Must be able to use a variety of hand and powered tools. Unclogs sinks and commodes and must be able to use simple plumbing tools.
• Prepares surfaces to be painted and applies paint, varnishes, stains, etc.
• Replaces a variety of light bulbs and filters, cleans both interior and exterior, using step ladders, may shampoo carpets.
• Pick up and delivers linens, trash and supplies using NAF owned government vehicle.
• Maintains exteriors by picking up trash, and snow removal.
• Operates and maintains motor vehicles ranging from a van to a one ton diesel delivery truck, and assists with heavy moving of items.

• Manages expendable and nonexpendable supply equipment items for lodging services through stock control, requisitioning, delivery and inventory control.
• Analyzes such factors as usage rates, inventory, seasonal demands, prices, special projects or program changes.
• Determines quantities required and timely stock replenishment and rotation by use of experienced judgment, historical data, occupancy and utilization.
• Establishes and maintains minimum stock levels of all expendable supplies and amenities to assure adequate inventory of items to prevent work stoppage.
• Manages stocks of perishable items to ensure that items are used before expiration dates.
• Establishes and maintains the appropriate security of high value and items subject to pilferage.
• Maintains material safety data sheets (MSDS) on all chemical solutions stocked. Performs pickup and delivery of supplies, amenities, and equipment at scheduled intervals to ensure an adequate stock at all work centers.
• Salvages broken or obsolete supplies and equipment according to applicable directives and policies.
• Maintains an accurate accounting and reporting system for nonexpendable property and performs routine phases of property management according to established policies and procedures.
• Responsible for warehousing of expendable and nonexpendable backup stocks according to generally accepted supply warehousing and safety policies and standards.
• As required, picks up various supply documents from warehouse office/remote terminals.
• Properly sorts and/or distributes to appropriate storage area for further processing.
• Maintains and catalogs files of items, description patterns, reference groups, military standards, specifications, cataloging manuals, and/or other cataloging tools providing for up-to-date information and easy retrieval without undue delays.
• Ensures maintenance and preventive maintenance are performed on all warehousing equipment and tools.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Performs a variety of maintenance, custodial, and repair jobs to include electronic door entry system assets, simple carpentry, plumbing, painting, maintenance repair of the lodging operation.
• Replaces light bulbs, light fixtures, electric outlets, light switches & ceiling fan light kits, etc.
• Changes AC air filters as needed. Inspects and performs minor repairs on lodging equipment, that will include Plumbing duties, i.e., unclog drains, toilets, showers, replace rusted above ground pipes, and fixtures.
• Informs supervisor of major problems.
• Paints indoor and outdoor surfaces and structures; i.e. walls, floors, doors, and door frames.
• Performs various types of uncomplicated wood work, furniture repairs drapery and blind installation and removal.
• Replaces broken and torn screens, performs repairs on windows and frames as required.
• Repairs and performs maintenance on small equipment and appliances to include hand tools, vacuums, irons, carpet shampooers, weedeaters, small lawn mowers, etc.
• Uses manual and gas/electrical tools; i.e. hedgers, clippers, and blowers.
• Accomplishes landscaping/ground keeping tasks to ensure trees, shrubs, plants are waters, pruned, trimmed and applying ice control material to entrance of buildings, shoveling/plowing snow, picking up litter throughout season.
• Ensures grounds remain attractive and professional throughout the season. Investigates any reported maintenance issues to ascertain cause and take corrective action.
• Works independently, plans work day accordingly with little or no supervision.
• Completes and maintains applicable work logs.
• Operates vehicles weighting up to 10,000 pounds, completes Air Force Form 1800 and maintain vehicles in accordance with established guidelines. Manages scheduled vehicle preventative maintenance service program for all lodging vehicles.
• Uses and maintains tools and equipment, maintains bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, etc. at prescribed levels.
• Utilizes hand and power tools such as drills, power saws, routers, and standard hand tools.
• Performs all monthly facility safety self-inspections requirements; i.e. fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and exit signs.
• Counts and sorts dirty linens for contractor pickup, counts and distributes clean linens and acts as the Quality Assurance Evaluator for the Linen Contractor.
• Conducts monthly inventory of all linen.
• Provides replacement linen counts to management for ordering to maintain a minimum 4 par stock level on all linen.
• Maintains and files all linen inventory counts (monthly) and contractors' invoices for a 2 year period.
• Others duties as assigned.
