Incumbent will perform a variety of work involving the operation of motor vehicles in support of the maintenance and repair of roadsides including roads, culverts, bridges, guardrails, etc. Operate diesel and gasoline powered motor vehicles and heavy equipment which typically have a gross vehicle weight of more than 26,000 pounds and up to 32,000 pounds; vehicles are usually equipped with air brakes. Operate vehicles, including dump trucks and trash truck, in all kinds of weather over rough terrain, in close quarters, and in heavy traffic. Duties include crack sealing, asphalt patching, refuse/recycling collection, transporting material, and loading trucks with front end loader and/or backhoe. Operate tractors with attached flail and sickle bar mowers to cut grass and brush on shoulders, ditches, and cut banks alongside park roads. Perform operator maintenance on all vehicles operated according to manufacturer and park standards. Complete minor repairs and preventive maintenance of equipment. Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, raking, cleaning drainage ditches, picking up litter, etc.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is located in the badlands of western North Dakota and includes the Theodore Roosevelt Wilderness Area. The park consists of three separate units: South Unit, Elkhorn Ranch Unit, and North Unit. The colorful Little Missouri River badlands provide a scenic backdrop to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which is home to a variety of plants and abundant wildlife, including bison, elk, wild horses, long horn steers, and bighorn sheep. The park headquarters is located in Medora, North Dakota, where limited medical facilities, shopping, and schools' grades K-12 are located nearby. Complete services and a college are located in Dickinson, 42 miles east of Medora. The North Unit is 70 miles north by road from the South Unit and park headquarters. Medora is a seasonal town with a variety of services available from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

• Operates motor vehicles for the Quentin N. Burdick Memorial Healthcare Facility with appointment driving being the main objective.
• Works with EMS on a daily basis to take local ambulance calls (911, local) to transport patients to local hospital for emergency services, transport responds with EMS on all calls.
• Assigned as a driver to assist EMS and bring patients safely to the hospital, transport patients by ambulance to other facilities for emergent transport and appointments, and follows all safety rules, regulations, and traffic signs, driving carefully and avoiding rough terrain and hazardous roads and grounds to prevent discomfort or injury to passengers and damage to vehicle.
• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, exam rooms, lab, pharmacy, dental areas, optometry, physical, occupational therapy areas, offices, and outpatient area as well as bathrooms, storerooms, employee coffee rooms, drinking fountains and all other public use areas.
