We have a new opportunity for an experienced production planner for a manufacturing business based in Kings Lynn.
Your new role
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely creation of production supply instructions. Creating and maintaining capacity plans, material supply orders and manufacturing instructions. Supporting the production manager with customer queries, assisting with supply and demand orders, schedules and changes. You will ensure the inventory is available on time for production and production demand is monitored.
Working closely with customer services you will communicate any delays in supplying orders, keeping production teams updated with any scheduling changes. You will look for ways to improve operational efficiencies by having a good understanding of lean manufacturing principles.

What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in production planning using ERP (NAV ERP) systems and Excel, strong communication skills, knowledge of capacity scheduling and planning. Good customer service experience, strong organisational skills.

As one of the leading agency suppliers to the HM Prison Service, for the provision of maintenance trade & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit a waste/ recycling operator for Wayland Prison, Grinston near Thetford.
The waste / recycling operative role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. You are always in demand, always busy and, based on performance, is likely to be a long-term role with the option of being employed directly by the prison service.
As part of the Facilities & Waste Disposal team, you will be responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness, waste, and recycling of the prison, including prisoners, staff, and admin areas. You might also pick up some basic duties for the garden, so maintain the garden and do any duties if needed.
There will be contact with serving prisoners, supervising them whilst carrying out the waste and recycling tasks i.e., general rubbish clearance and undertake quality control over their work.
You will be asked to collect, process, and dispose of waste materials from all areas of the prison establishment in the most effective way but adhering to their strict policy with regard to all waste compliance and environmental issues.
Working in a similar waste or recycling role before would be preferred, but full training is provided by the establishment/department, which is fully paid for, so applicants from any background will be considered for the role. As well as someone that would not mind doing some gardening duties.
You will work from Monday-Thursday, 6:50am- 4:30am and Fridays 6:50am to 11:00am.
The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks. You will also need to be reliable and consistent, level-headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
Due to the in-depth background checks the prison holds, the procedure can take up to 3 and a half weeks.

Due to continued growth, the company is looking for a strong manufacturing Section Manager to join their production team overseeing production with a focus on managing Health & Safety, Continuous Improvement, planning and process.
Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Manage line leaders and production staff
• Work alongside the manufacturing manager to assess continuous improvement methods
• Work to and manage health and safety processes
• Set and work to production goals and targets.
• Maintaining systems for ensuring quality of product is to correct specifications.

• Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/production environment

Your new company
Due to continued expansion this Norwich based business are looking for an additional Production Manager to join their team.
Your new role
You will have responsibility for a specified production facility where you will manage budgetary targets, profit and loss and ensure you meet the highest levels of agreed service delivery. You will manage a team of up to 100 staff, via a reporting line of supervisors and team leaders. You will take full ownership of analysing every aspect of production within your business area, ensuring that all profit drivers are visible, monitored, and optimised, contributing to the creation and implementation of best practices.
You will calculate average parts spend per job, BER, bounce, parts BOM setup, usage of alternative parts sources, pricing, warranty claims, staff efficiency and all other cost/revenue drivers. You will deliver continuous improvement initiatives, including quality enhancements, cycle time reduction and waste elimination using lean techniques.
As business unit lead you will have full responsibility for health & safety legislation, ensuring your people are compliant and working safely, you will identify and manage training where necessary, including managing quality systems.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have experience gained within in a manufacturing industry ideally within an electronics or components business. This is very much a customer-facing role and experience of working closely with account managers and service managers would be advantageous. Strong financial acumen including budget management and profit and loss, knowledge of business systems ISO4001/ISO9001, health & safety awareness (IOSH/COSHH)

• Deal promptly and effectively with problems

• Help manage projects from cradle to grave using tools such as: budget trackers, Gantt charts and AutoCAD
• You will also lead shop floor design flow improvements

What you\'ll need to succeed

• You will come from a manufacturing background, ideally around heavy engineering and have proven experience with leading and training in Kaizen, lean processes and process mapping.
• You should be able to demonstrate previous success in cost down projects, quality and capital project management.
• Experience in process analysis and improvements, detailed knowledge of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing toolbox methodologies.
