About the role
As Conservation Project Manager you will bring together project management skills, specialist conservation and collections care expertise, problem solving, and team leadership skills to deliver collections projects at NCC. More information about NCC can be found below.

Reporting to the Group Conservation Manager, you will work collaboratively and proactively with other Project Managers and departments to enable the Conservation team to deliver Masterplan and Collections Services projects. This includes ensuring that conservation and collection care elements are correctly scoped and resourced and that conservation budgets are managed accordingly.

You will manage and matrix manage conservators across several projects. Using your conservation specialist knowledge of materials and practices, you will help your team plan works and review processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, making decisions to improve efficiencies and ways of working.

Full time (35 hours), Fixed term contract until Dec 2025 - Hybrid working from Wroughton Office.
Offering £40,133 per annum

There may be the possibility of the extension for this role depending on the Science Museum Group work programme.

About you
You will have solid experience of conservation project management with the ability to analyse, forward plan, coordinate and manage people. From this, you have the ability to find innovative conservation solutions to complex problems, and to define and report on key performance indicators, key dependencies and milestones and risk.

With great people and negotiation skills, you can maintain a strong reputation for delivery whist effectively engaging with senior stakeholders, and acting as a successful, and trusted ambassador for your team.

This position is based at the National Collections Centre, at the Science and Innovation Park in Wroughton within the Collection Services Department.

This is an important role that is key to the success of both the Divisions and the organisation. The post holder is expected to work at a high level in the organisation demonstrating credibility with the Divisional Management teams, Head of Service and Clinicians at all levels.

Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, the post holder has the following key areas of responsibilities: -
• Preparing and submitting a monthly Management Accounts Pack to the Finance Business Partner and to budget holders, together with a commentary to accompany monthly management accounts.

Key Tasks

To operate the CMMS including:

• Loading of asset data, manufacturer details onto the database and in liaison with the Operations Engineers schedule maintenance.
• Eliminating delays and obstacles through proper planning and coordination of parts, equipment down time and labour.
• Issuing and closing of job cards, together with the recording of comments, personnel details and also labour times to form an on-going history file for each asset.
• Maintains list of work orders waiting to be scheduled, by priority, with an estimated completion date. Unplanned jobs requiring engineering, waiting for materials, waiting for downtime, etc., are filed accordingly. When ready for scheduling, work orders are filed by required completion day.
• Once job is planned and estimated, prior to scheduling, the job holder will verify availability of parts, materials and special tools required for execution.
• Control and maintain the equipment numbering system and the issue of Equipment/Asset Labels. Record the movement of plant as and when it arises.
• Maintain a working knowledge of the SuiteReq system to provide help and guidance when required.
• Ensure that archiving of documents is carried out as per SOPs and the validated quality system on site.
• Completion of any other duties or projects, which are commensurate with a Maintenance Planner position, as defined by the Maintenance Manager.

Person Specification

• Proficient with maintenance planning and scheduling processes/procedures, procurement of materials, cost estimating, sub-contracting, and monitoring of job schedules and costs.

• Responsible for delivering a broad range of HV and LV works via teams of direct employees and sub-contractors.

As a Property and Casualty Underwriter you will focus predominantly on new business. You will be contributing to team trading results through effective underwriting and trading and through building dynamic underwriting relationships with brokers.

Role and Responsibilities

• Delivering planned financial results through the effective underwriting of cases.
• Building effective trading relationships with Brokers through trading activity - being recognised as a positive trading partner.
• Identifying poorly performing accounts and investigating reasons for lack of retention.
• Contributing to the improvement of profitability by implementing actions agreed with brokers to improve account performance.

To be considered you will need to have commercial underwriting experience either at Underwriter level currently or Assistant Underwriter with a proven technical understanding. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

To take calls for specialist services within Swindon Community Health services such as Phlebotomy Team, Continence Team, Parkinsons Nurse, COPD Nurse, IV Therapy Team and the Rapid Response Service both for existing users and family members and GPs requiring a new referral. Be able to take a patient referral over the phone from a health care professional / patient following the criteria for each service. Being able to express empathy and handling difficult, emotional phone calls, for example if a patients family calls to say they have passed away or someone wants to complain. The post holder should be able to recognise distress and demonstrate understanding of the callers emotion at that time to de-escalate the situation as best as possible. Provide daily administrative support to the nursing teams, clinical hub triage teams community nursing and therapist within the hub clinical hub, for example respond to telephone calls, email, written queries or system tasks, compiling of the daily capacity sheet and printing off of the Bank & Agency care plans for their daily workload.
