We are looking for a Technical Planning Lead to join our nuclear energy business. You will join the Regulatory Interface and External Oversight (RI&EO) department in EDF Nuclear Generation Limited (NGL), which exists to provide independent (of the line) governance, oversight and support for regulatory and external oversight interfaces in the pursuit of safe, reliable operations supporting EDF’s existing nuclear operations fleet through to defueling. What you’ll be doing

As a Technical Planning Lead, you will:


- Maintain an overview of regulatory interactions for ONR, EA and SEPA for EDF Energy NGL

Who you are

As a minimum, you will have a HNC or equivalent in a technical subject.

You will have a track record of working within a multi-stakeholder environment, presenting complex information to varied audiences in a simple and effective way, monitoring and influencing for positive outcomes, experience of leading or embedding best practice assurance processes in a complex business environment. You have the ability to drive and implement effective change and continuous improvement activities to achieve organisational objectives, managing deployment of strategies across business units.

About the Role:

This role will be the day to day managing of the installation of all internal fit out works within the dry-lining industry including suspended ceilings, glazed partitions, plastering, internal partitions etc covering multiple sites locally and across the UK.

The company require applicants that are well motivated, self-managed, someone who is proactive and reactive has an eye for attention to detail and enjoys working within a team, IT Literate and very well organised.

Preferably looking long term for someone who is driven and looking to progress to a more senior management role in time.

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Project/Site Manager within the construction industry for a main contractor.
• Experience of working on a variety of contracts including educational, industrial, leisure, retail and commercial.
• The ability to multi-task.

The successful candidate will be required to run a number of projects simultaneously. Ensuring that they are all delivered on time and to budget.
Dealing with both direct employees and subcontractors, clients, client’s representatives and third parties

Working closely with the Commercial Director the post holder will ensure that employer engagement activity build customer relationships, seeks out new business opportunities and delivers income targets through the recruitment into a range of programmes of benefit to employers. Key Responsibilities of our Head of Business Development:
Working with the Commercial Director, you will generate results and drive the team to constantly deliver growth in apprenticeship numbers, full cost commercial, project based and other non-traditional sources of income for the college.
Lead individual and team targets in respect of apprenticeship income.
Be accountable for the building of mutually beneficial relationships, partnerships and external opportunities with all college stakeholders and colleagues across the college.
Manage the employer engagement team to achieve targets, monitor performance and ensure teams are motivated and equipped to succeed.
Pro-actively contribute to the implementation and ongoing development of the colleges' employer engagement strategy including the development of employer engagement, sales and marketing plans and delivery of large employer events.
Support and develop work placement opportunities across the college with specific contribution to programmes where work experience is mandatory.
Lead on engaging employers in the co-design and co-delivery of programme development to support and inform curriculum intent and implementation.
Working collaboratively with the wider leadership team in establishing and continually developing the colleges commercial provision by generating strong relationships and understanding around revenue streams including but not limited to, apprenticeships, high level technical qualifications, study programme, adult programmes and HE offer.
What we’re looking for in our Head of Business Development:
Qualified to degree level or equivalent professional qualification or willing to work towards
Evidence of commitment to personal development and continuing improvement
Experience in planning and delivery of Curriculum across a range of programmes.
Ability to work flexibly, including evening and weekend work
Ability to manage a range of tasks with priority
Ability to act and think strategically to grow income streams in line with the colleges' strategic plan in a range of programmes including but not limited to apprenticeships, external commercial projects, partnership sub-contracting, CDF/T Level industry placements, study programme work experience and HE work placements where necessary.
Lead on project based, contract funding programmes, this will require a significant degree of collaboration and leadership across the college.
Champion employers within the college and lead in the building of mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues across college and with key external partners.
Service partner relationships and large paying levy accounts.

Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager

The Senior Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager will be responsible for providing Quantity Surveying and Project Management services to the appropriate high standard from inception through to completion. Provide support and advice, ensuring clients receive a professional high quality service.
Accountabilities:
1) Provide feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, databases, tenders and provide advice on the economics of design at the early stages of a project and the use of whole life costing techniques.
2) Responsible for the preparation on high quality tender documentation.
3) Undertaking pricing documentation during tender period.
4) Examine and analyse tenders and negotiate contract sums, preparation of cost breakdowns and initial cost profile.
5) Utilise project management techniques to manage resources effectively to ensure all commissions are completed to agreed targets.
6) Apply and report on the principles of risk management.
7) Control all post contract procedures, assist Contract Administrators in the preparation of relevant post contract variations and certificate under the contract.
8) Prepare final accounts, obtaining the agreement of the contractor and manage audit procedures.
9) Manage resources effectively and efficiently.
10) Build strong and long term relationships with key stakeholders, monitoring and acting upon feedback.
11) Provide robust performance management information.
12) Manage all projects in a proactive and efficient manner, continually seeking new and innovative ways of working.
13) Provide high level dynamic lead and production of information with respect to professional service tender submissions.
14) Proactively seek to expand the client base and business, and responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
15) Fee earning at 90% and contribute to the achievement of business plan objectives and targets.
16) This role requires frequent travel to other offices and sites as required.
17) Carry out duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
